V0L~~ SAGE 1,7 COMMISSIONERS' COURT REGULAR MEETING JULY 19, 2005 A regular meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos ty, Texas was held in the Brazos Center 3232 Briarcrest D ve, in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 6:00 p.m. o Tuesday, July 19, 2005 with the following members of the o: o: rt present: Randy Sims, County Judge, Presiding; Eric Caldwell, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Duane Peters, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Kenny Mallard, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4, Absent; Karen McQueen, County Clerk. The attached sheet contains the names of the citizens and =icials that were in attendance. The County Judge gave the invocation and led the pledge allegiance. There was no citizen input/and or concerns. The Court next considered Budget Amendment #04/05-36.1 t#ough 36.6, which would reallocate funds for the Brazos V ley Narcotics Trafficking Task Force, Jail Administration, C my Clerk Management Fund, Extension Service, County A orney and Magistrate. On motion by Commissioner Peters, s onded by Commissioner Wassermann, the Court voted C issioners Court meeting July 19, 2004 2 u nimously to approve the budget amendment as submitted, a c y of which is attached. The Court proceeded to consider the change of status of e loyees as submitted on the attached Personnel Action R quests. On motion by Commissioner Peters, seconded by Commissioner Mallard, the Court voted unanimously to approve t change of status as submitted. The Court next considered the following Claims as s mitted by the County Treasurer for payment: 7008928 through 7009198 0 motion by Commissioner Mallard, seconded by Commissioner P ers, the Court voted unanimously to approve the Claims as S11 mitted. The next matter before the Court was consideration of a p ment authorization issued by the office of Constable, P cinct 4 to Signs Now in the amount of $175.00 for the f rication and installation of graphics on a patrol car that i 'ntify it as a Constable's vehicle. On motion by C issioner Peters, seconded by Commissioner Wassermann, the C rt voted unanimously to approve the payment authorization. The Court next considered a payment authorization issued b the office of the Constable, Precinct 4 to Varsity Ford in t amount of $2,770.04 for repairs on a 2003 Crown Victoria 1 Page C issioners Court meeting July 19, 2004 3 VT icle. The County has received a check for repairs from i urance. On motion by Commissioner Peters, seconded by C issioner Wassermann, the Court voted unanimously to a 'rove the payment authorization. The next matter for consideration was approval of tax refund applications from the following individuals and/or c panies: a. Carolyn Houston Stone, Over Payment $14.53 b. Darrick D. Bell, Over Payment $50.02 c. Ruthie Mae Blanford, Over Payment $32.39 O motion by Commissioner Peters, seconded by Commissioner M 'lard, the Court voted unanimously to approve the tax refund a lications . The Court next considered a request from the Research V ley Partnership for approval of a cash incentive of $,:D,000.00 to Readfield Meats, Inc., a Texas Corporation d .a. Ruffino Meats and Food Services as part of an economic d elopment agreement. On motion by Commissioner Mallard, s onded by Commissioner Peters, the Court voted unanimously t 'fund the cash incentive to Readfield Meats, Inc., a Texas Corporation d.b.a. There were no announcements of interest items and p#sible future agenda topics. There was no citizen input and/or concerns. Under Agency/Board/Committee reports by Court members, following spoke: Commissioner Mallard a) Met with the Intergovernmental Committee and discussed the horticulture gardens at Hensel Park. Originally, this started as a school project. Texas A&M University is looking for assistance to fund this as a tourist attraction. The topic of Easterwood Airport was also discussed.
