REGULAR MEETING
MARCH 29, 2005
A regular meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos
C nty, Texas was held in the Brazos County Commissioners
C rtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas,
b inning at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2005 with the
f lowing members of the Court present:
Randy Sims, County Judge, Presiding;
Lloyd Wassermann, Commissioner of Precinct l;
Duane Peters, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Kenny Mallard, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Karen McQueen, County Clerk.
The attached sheet contains the names of the citizens and
o icials that were in attendance.
Commissioner Cauley gave the invocation and led the
p dge of allegiance.
There was no citizen input/and or concerns.
The Court acknowledged the 2004 Research Valley
P tnership Annual Review and Status Report presented by Bob
Lei arse.
The Court next considered Budget Amendment #04/05-21.1
t trough 21.6 that would reallocate funds for Juvenile
S vices, Juvenile Services-Academy and Building Maintenance;
t nsfer funds from Contingency to Juvenile Services and

C unity Support and amend the VINE Grant. On motion by
Commissioner Cauley, seconded by Commissioner Peters, the
Court voted unanimously to approve the budget amendment as
submitted, a copy of which is attached.
There were no personnel action forms to be considered.
The Court next considered the following Claims as
s mitted by the County Treasurer for payment:

O motion by Commissioner Peters, seconded by Commissioner
M lard, the Court voted unanimously to approve the Claims as
s mitted.
The County Judge read aloud Proclamation #05-005
d ignating Saturday, April 2, 2005 as Merrill and Bonnie
G en Day in Brazos County. The Court joins with numerous
B zos County citizens, former students, other friends and
f ily members in commemorating Bonnie and Merrill Green's 75th
birthdays " on April 2, 2005. On motion by the County Judge,
s onded by Commissioner Peters, the Court voted unanimously
t proclaim April 2, 2005 as Bonnie and Merrill Green Day
t oughout Brazos County.
The next matter before the Court was consideration of a
C perative Working Agreement between Brazos County and the
B zos County Rape Crisis Center. The Center has applied for a

G nt to the Criminal Justice Division of the Office of the
rnor and this is a requirement of any external agency with
sonnel assigned to the grant-funded project. This serves as
a tatement of the County's agreement to work with the Center.
Bill Turner, District Attorney has signed the document as the
A licant Authorized Official. On motion by Commissioner
Peers, seconded by Commissioner Cauley, the Court voted
imously to approve the Agreement and authorized the County
J40ge to execute the document.
The Court next considered a payment authorization in the
unt of $1,356.25 to SunGard Pentamation for maintenance on
t Texas Regulatory Software. On motion by Commissioner
C ley, seconded by Commissioner Wassermann, the Court voted
u nimously to approve the payment authorization.
The next matter for consideration by the Court was a
r west submitted by the Director of the Information Technology
D artment seeking approval for out of state travel for
h' self. Eric Caldwell would be traveling to Monterey,
C ifornia to attend the 2005 West Cost Client Conference for
S Gard Pentamation May 11 through the 13, 2005. On motion by
t County Judge, seconded by Commissioner Cauley, the Court
v ed unanimously to grant the request from the Director of the
Information Technology Department and approved payment of out

o state travel expense for Eric Caldwell.
The next matter for consideration was approval of tax
