The Ivorkshop will be held in the Magistrate's Courtroom of the Brazos County
Court use, 300 East 26th Street, Suite 226, Bryan, Texas for the purpose of hearing a
prese tion by Secretary of State Roger Williams about the Help America Vote Act
(HAV
The Braz County Courthouse is wheelchair accessible. Handicap parking spaces are available. Any request for sign

FEBRUARY 23, 2005
The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas met in a
;shop Session in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the
rthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 2:00
. on Wednesday, February 23, 2005, with the following
ers of the Court present:
Randy Sims, County Judge, Presiding;
Lloyd Wassermann, Commissioner of Precinct l;
Duane Peters, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Kenny Mallard, Commissioner of Precinct 3, Absent;
Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Karen McQueen, County Clerk.
Attached is a list of the citizens and officials in
attendance.
The County Judge opened the meeting and introduced Texas
S 'retary of State Roger Williams. Mr. Williams is on an
i 'ormation tour speaking on the Help America Vote Act (HAVA).
H informed the Court that he had a check in the amount of
$ 1000,800.00 for Brazos County to use toward the County
E cation Fund, Voting System Accessibility and General HAVA
C pliance. The County Judge mentioned that Brazos County has
a 'eady updated its voting equipment. He then asked if the
c lunty needed a paper trail to show compliance with the

ate. Mr. Williams said that if it is necessary in the
f ure, then the State will pay for it.
Mary Lynne Stratta, Bryan City Secretary, spoke on behalf
o !Ll the Municipal Clerks Association, voicing concerns that
s cities have over the cost of this mandate.
Mr. Williams then presented the check to the Court.
