TT- COMMISSIONERS' COURT REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 4, 2005 A regular meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos C#nty, Texas was held in the Brazos County Commissioners Cgprtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, b4oinning at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2005 with the f lowing members of the Court present: Randy Sims, County Judge, Presiding; Lloyd Wassermann, Commissioner of Precinct l; Duane Peters, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Kenny Mallard, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4; Karen McQueen, County Clerk. The attached sheet contains the names of the citizens and of o it =icials that were in attendance. The County Judge gave the invocation and led the pledge allegiance. He then announced that there were no invoices approve because Pentamation was down. He said the Court ild probably recess while the Treasurer obtained the i4Voices necessary for approval. There was no citizen input/and or concerns. The first matter before the Court was the r lassification of the Expo Center Director position to a p ition in the County Attorney's office entitled Civil A orney-Commissioners Court, effective January 8, 2005. On 1 66- Page / 05 Cc n issioners Court meeting January 4, 2005 2 motion by Commissioner Cauley, seconded by Commissioner Paters, the Court voted unanimously to approve the r lassification of the Expo Center Director position to a p ition in the County Attorney's office entitled Civil A orney-Commissioners Court, effective January 8, 2005. The Court proceeded to consider the change of status of e loyees as submitted on the attached Personnel Action R uests. The County Judge pointed out that former C issioner, Eric Caldwell, will now be the new Director of t Information Technology Department. He also welcomed new C nty Commissioner, Precinct 1, Lloyd Wassermann to the C rt. On motion by Commissioner Cauley, seconded by C Lissioner Peters, the Court voted unanimously to approve t changes as submitted. The County Judge skipped the claims because Pentamation h been down, but will consider them later this afternoon w n the Court reconvenes. The next matter before the Court was the approval of the Official Bond for a newly elected official. On motion by C issioner Cauley, seconded by Commissioner Mallard, the C rt voted unanimously to approve the Official Bond of S riff Chris Kirk. The Court next considered a supplement to the Independent Page /o 1P C issioners Court meeting January 4, 2005 3 Contractor Agreement between Brazos County and Junction Five- O ive. This supplement increases the pay to Junction Five-O- F e to one thousand five hundred twenty five dollars ($L,525.00) per month per site for a monthly sum of nine t usand one hundred fifty dollars ($9,150.00). On motion by t County Judge, seconded by Commissioner Cauley, the Court v ed unanimously to approve the supplement. A copy is a ached. On motion by Commissioner Peters, seconded by C issioner Cauley, the Court voted unanimously to authorize t County Judge to execute a Tax Resale Deed to the following i ividual: Sinnamon Marie Cuellar - Part of Lot 6, Coulter Subdivision of Morrell, Undivided Interest 33.330, City of Bryan, Brazos County, Texas The Court next considered awarding Bid #2005-005, 0 rsized Limestone Aggregate. Becky Stephens, Senior Buyer, m e the following recommendations: Primary Vendor Statewide Materials Secondary Vendor Young Contractors 0 motion by Commissioner Peters, seconded by Commissioner C ley, the Court voted unanimously to approve the r ommendation of the Senior Buyer and awarded the contract as s ted above. 1 (o Page C b 7 C r f r issioners Court meeting January 4, 2005 4 The Court acknowledged receipt of the Extension Service orts for November 2004 and acknowledged receipt of reports m the following County and Precinct offices showing enues collected and remitted to the County Treasurer: County Clerk District Clerk Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Precinct 2, Place 1 Justice of the Peace Precinct 2, Place 2 Justice of the Peace Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 Sheriff A opy of the Officials' reports can be viewed in the County A itor's office. Under Agency/Board/Committee reports by Court members, t4 following spoke: County Judge a) He reminded everyone that the State Legislature will be in session soon and thinks it's best that the Commissioners go to Austin as needed to keep an eye on things. The County Judge then made a motion to recess the C issioners Court meeting until 2:00 p.m. in order to pay cims at that time. Commissioner Cauley seconded the motion a it passed unanimously. 1 (05 Page `09' C missioners Court meeting January 4, 2005 5 At 2:00 p.m. the County Judge reconvened the Commissioners Court meeting and proceeded to consider the f lowing Claims as submitted by the County Treasurer for nt. 7002635 through 7002757 O motion by Commissioner Mallard, seconded by Commissioner C ley, the Court voted unanimously to approve the Claims as s mitted.
