A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos
C nty, Texas was held at the Brazos Center, 3232 Briarcrest
D ve in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
o Wednesday, December 15, 2004 with the following members of
t Court present:

Randy Sims, County Judge, Presiding;
Eric Caldwell, Commissioner of Precinct 1, Absent;
Duane Peters, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Kenny Mallard, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4,
Absent:
Karen McQueen, County Clerk, Absent.

o icials that were in attendance.
This is an intergovernmental meeting with the Brazos
C nty Commissioners Court, Bryan and College Station City
ncils, the Bryan and College Station Independent School
tricts and Texas A&M Uni versi ty.
The purpose of the
ting is to have a discussion with State Senator, Steve
en and State Representative Fred Brown.
Ci ty of Bryan Mayor, Ernie Wentrcek called the City
ncil meeting to order.
City of College Station Mayor, Ron Silvia called the City
ncil meeting to order.

The County Judge called the Commissioners Court meeting
t order.
The two mayors and the County Judge addressed the state
e cted officials in their opening remarks.

Fazzino,
Chairman of the Intergovernmental

ittee and representing the city of College Station led the
p sentation.
He gave a briefing report for the 79th
1 islative session and discussed the top issues which are as
f
1. Tax Appraisal Caps
2. School Finance reform
3. Transportation
4. Telecommunications
5. Collective Bargaining
6. Annexation
7. Water
Mr. Fazzino, noting that Senator Ogden was pressed for
t' e, asked for his remarks on the top seven items.
Senator
said that he was familiar with the seven issues and
ted that he felt confident that he and Representative Brown
represent the county on these issues.
Senator Ogden then asked for details concerning water

Representative Fred Brown then voiced his thoughts on the

The Senator and Representative then took questions from

There being no further business to come before the Court,
t County Judge adjourned the meeting.
The mayors of the cities of Bryan and College Station
