A regular meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos
C¢ lnty, Texas was held in the Brazos County Commissioners
C¢ lrtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas,
b( 'inning at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2004 with the
f¢ lowing members of the Court present:
Randy Sims, County Judge, Presiding;
Eric Caldwell, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Duane Peters, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Kenny Mallard, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Karen McQueen, County Clerk.
The attached sheets contain the names of the citizens and
o~ icials that were in attendance.
Commissioner Cauley gave the invocation and led the
pi dge of allegiance.
The County Judge thanked Jason Schneider, with
~gressman Carter's office, for attending the meeting.
The Court first considered Budget Amendment %04/05-2.1
?ough 2.6 that would reallocate funds Constable, Precinct 4,
~stable, Precinct 1 and the 272nd District Court; set up a
tnt budget for ORCA-HUD 28th Street Sewer Sr. Grant, to
:rease the budget of the TEEX-Domestic Preparedness Grant

The Court proceeded to consider the change of status of

The next matter before the Court was consideration of a

The Court next considered entering into agreement with
Brazos Valley Veteran Memorial, Inc. to maintain the

The next matter before the Court was the consideration of

The Court next considered awarding Bid No. 2004-048,
Ac ~regate for Surface Treatment. Becky Stephens, Senior Buyer
r. ~ommended acceptance of the bid submitted by Colorado
Mi ~erials. On motion by Commissioner Peters, seconded by
ioner Cauley, the Court voted unanimously to accept the
r~ ~ommendation of the Senior Buyer and award the contract to

Wayne Dicky-Jail Administrator
a) Reported that three (3) long time employees retired
recently. They are Ray Hamlin, Jerry Walton, and
Rosemary Turner. There will be a reception tomorrow
from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in room 108.
b) Chief Mann had his first check up yesterday and is
doing well.
Commissioner Mallard
a) Met with the Brazos Family Residency Program to
start search for a new director.
At 9:20 a.m. the County Judge announced the meeting
c[ sed to the public so that the Court could meet in Closed
E: Session to discuss personnel allowed under Section
5! .074 of the Texas Government Code.
At 10:25 a.m. the County Judge announced the meeting open
