IN THE COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM OF THE BRAZOS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, 300 EAST 26TH STREET, SUITE 115, BRYAN, TEXAS. 1. Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance - Judge Sims 2. Presentation of Proposed Budget for FY 2004 Consider and take action on agenda items 3 - 5: 3. Proposal to increase tax revenues 4. Set date and time for Public Hearing for Proposed Budget for FY 2004 5. Set date and time for Public Hearing for a tax increase 6. Adjourn The Brazos County Courthouse is wheelchair accessible. I!nl 44 rAnc d3o COMMISSIONERS' COURT SPECIAL MEETING AUGUST 19, 2003 A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas was held in the Brazos County Commissioners Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2003 with the following members of the Court present: Randy Sims, County Judge, Presiding; Tony Jones, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Duane Peters, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Kenny Mallard, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4; Karen McQueen, County Clerk. The attached sheet contains the names of the citizens and officials that were in attendance. The County Judge gave the invocation and led the pledge of allegiance. The first matter before the Court was the presentation of the proposed budget for fiscal year 2004. The County Judge read a statement and presented the proposed budget to the Commissioners. The Court next considered a proposal to increase tax revenues. On motion by the County Judge, seconded by Commissioners Jones, Peters, Mallard and Cauley, the Court voted unanimously to increase tax revenues from I1n1 44 w!r ;3) Commissioners' Court meeting August 19, 2003 4146 to .4350 per hundred dollar valuation of property. The next matter before the Court was the setting of a date and time for the Public hearing for the Proposed Budget for fiscal year 2004. On motion by the County Judge, seconded by Commissioner Peters, and Cauley, the Court voted unanimously to hold a public hearing on the proposed budget at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2003 in the Commissioners Courtroom. The Court next considered setting a date and time for a Public Hearing for a tax increase. On motion by the County Judge, seconded by Commissioner Jones, Peters, and Cauley the Court voted unanimously to hold a public hearing on the proposed tax increase at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2003 in the Commissioners Courtroom. 2 There being no further business to come before the Court, the meeting was adjourned.
