NOTICE OF WORKSHOP SESSION
AND AGENDA
BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT
THE COMMISSIONERS COURT WILL CONDUCT A WORKSHOP SESSION ON
TUESDAY, APRIL 1, 2003 AT 10:30 A.M. IN THE COMMISSIONERS COURTROOM
OF THE BRAZOS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, 300 EAST 26TH STREET, SUITE 115,
BRYAN, TEXAS.
Call to Order.
2. Discussion regarding order(s) prohibiting public nuisance in accordance with
Health and Safety Code §343.011.
3. Discussion regarding modifications to the Purchasing Policies and Procedures.
4. Discussion regarding the Capital Asset Policy.
5. Discussion regarding members to serve on the Facilities Committee.
6. Adjourn.
The Courthouse is wheelchair accessible. Handicap parking spaces are available. Any request for sign interpretive

COMMISSIONERS' COURT
WORKSHOP SESSION
APRIL 1, 2003
The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas met in a
Workshop Session in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the
Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:30
a.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2003, with the following membe-s of
the Court present:
Randy Sims, County Judge, Presiding;
Tony Jones, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Duane Peters, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Kenny Mallard, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4 Absent;
Karen McQueen, County Clerk.
Attached is a list of the citizens and officials in
attendance.
The Commissioners Court met in Workshop Session to
discuss the following topics:
1. Discussion concerning order(s) prohibiting public
nuisance in accordance with Health and Safety Code
§343.011. Jim Mann, Chief Deputy, Julie Anderson,
Head Sanitarian, Jim Kuboviak, County Attorney,
Commissioners Mallard and Jones and Spencer Giles,
Assistant County Attorney discussed methods of
notification, enforcement, procedures and
prosecution.
2. Purchasing Policy - the Purchasing Agent gave a
presentation on the major changes due to the
changes in the Local Government Code and made
suggestions for instituting those changes.

3. Discussion concerning the Capital Asset Policy.
The County Auditor reviewed the policy for the
Court and indicated a need to make a decision on
how to account for roads and bridges whether it be
modified.or to depreciate them.
4. Discussion concerning members to serve on the
Facilities Committee. The Court will compile a
list of names and then put it on the agenda for
consideration. The Court is currently looking at
seven (7) names.
