IN THE COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM OF THE BRAZOS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, 300 EAST 26TH STREET, SUITE 115, BRYAN, TEXAS. 1. Invocation. 2. Pledge of Allegiance. 3. Consider and take action on budget amendments. 4. Request from Mr. Greg Boyd to address Commissioners' Court. 5. Consider and take action on out of state travel for District Attorney's office. 6. Consider and take action on request from Precinct 4 Constable to purchase fax machine for his office. 7. Consider and take action on the modification of Bid No.91604 in regard to microfilming for the County Clerk's office. 8. Consider and take action on work outside of county rights-of- ways for the enhancement of county road projects. 9. Consider and take action on personnel change of status. 10. Consider and take action on payment of claims. 11. Adjourn. . J VO PAGE .Y._ COMMISSIONERS' COURT SPECIAL MEETING JANUARY 27, 1992 • A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 27, 1992, with the following members of the Court present: R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, Absent; Gary Norton, Commissioner of Precinct is Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2, Presiding; Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Mary Ann Ward, County Clerk. The following citizens and officials were in attendance: ~J Ruth McLeod Carol Palmer Bea Green Rosalie Todaro Cheryl Turney A. H. Winder Sandie Walker Louis Garcia Jim Hiney Anne Friedenberg Michael Humphries Greg Boyd Commissioner Sims gave the invocation and led the pledge of allegiance. The Court first considered Budget Amendment #191/92-06 and 91/92-07. Budget amendment #191/92-06 would reallocate funds in the Juvenile Probation Department, and transfer funds from Non-Departmental to the office of Constable Precinct 4. Budget amendment #191/92-07 would transfer funds from Non- Departmental to the County Clerk's Department. On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Norton, the Court voted unanimously to approve the budget amendments as submitted, a copy of each is attached hereto. The court next heard from Greg Boyd, a resident of Straub Executive Assistant Admin. Asst. to County Judge Secretary to Commissioners Auditor's Office Auditor's Office County Engineer Treasurer Constable Pct. 4 Bryan/College Station Eagle KBTX-TV KBTX-TV Young Brothers Road, who asked what can be done to limit trucks to 58,420 pounds traveling on county roads. Mr. Boyd stated that the excessive weight of the vehicles coupled with the recent rains voL~_PArE__I~ Commissioners' Court meeting January 27, 1992 have contributed to massive damage to the road surfaces. After considerable discussion, it was the consensus of the Court to place on the agenda for the next Commissioners' Court meeting, the consideration of limiting trucks to 58,420 pounds on county roads during inclement weather. On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Norton, the Court voted unanimously to table consideration of out of state travel for the District Attorney's office. The County Judge stated no action would be necessay on Constable Garcia's request to purchase a Fax Machine. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commis- sioner Norton, the Court voted unanimously to modify Bid No. 91-604 for Microfilming for the County Clerk's office. The change would allow the Clerk to microfilm old Mechanic Liens records, Vol. A through Z, for reduction. They would be filmed on archival film for preservation of records. The Court next considered authorizing work outside of county rights-of-way for the enhancement of county road projects. The Road and Bridge Department requested permission to enter the private property of Catherine Schulthies in the Shiloh Subdivision, for the purpose of cleaning out an existing channel of Peach Creek to provide an adequate drainage outlet for road ditches. To enter the private property of the Golden Triangles Ranches and Joe D. Herman on Goodson Bend Road for the purpose of cleaning out existing ditches to improve drainage from Goodson Bend Road. On motion by Commissioner Norton, seconded by Commissioner Turner, the Court voted unanimously to authorize the work. The Court proceeded to consider the change of status of the following employees.
