Y PAG F l~l COMMISSIONERS' COURT REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 9, 1991 • A regular meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 9, 1991, with the following members of the Court present: R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, Presiding; Gary Norton, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Mary Ann Ward, County Clerk. Commissioner Sims gave the invocation and led the pledge of allegiance. On motion by Commissioner Norton, seconded by Commis- sioner Sims, the Court voted unanimously to adopt a resolution declaring that Brazos County intends to apply for state funds, through the Criminal Justice Reform package (HB 93), to be used to develop alternatives to prison incarceration for convicted defendants. Commissioner Sims asked about the G&K bid. The Purchasing Agent replied that we were currently using G&K and that every department except Maintenance seem satisfied with the service. On motion by Commissioner Norton, seconded by Commis- sioner Sims, the Court voted unanimously to accept the bid of the overall low bidder G&K and award the contract to G&K. on motion by Commissioner Turner, seconded by Commis- sioner Wilcox, the Court voted unanimously to reappoint the following people to be Fire Commissioners of Rural Fire Prevention District (I4: Frankie Nemec (Two Year Term) Anderson Jones (Two Year Term) Sue Moody (Two Year Term) Alvin Phelps Sr. (One Year Term) and to appoint Donald Regmund to be Fire Commissioner of Rural Fire Prevention District #4 for a one year term. It was the consensus of the Court to table consideration of the acceptance of the property in Benchley Oaks i~ . 1... Commissioners' Court meeting December 9, 1992 Subdivision. • The Court next considered two requests from Ferguson Crossing Pipeline Company. One was to install a 4" steel pipe line across Britton Road in Precinct 4. The second was to install a 4" steel pipe line crossing Burt Road in Precinct 4. The County Engineer stated that all appeared to be in order and recommended approval. Commissioner Wilcox referred to item number six on the Notice of Proposed Installation form in which it states "and the drainage is to be considered at least two feet (21) below the center of the roadway. He asked that this be amended to state six feet (6' ) below the center of the roadway. On motion by Commissioner Norton, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court voted unanimously to approve both requests of Ferguson Crossing Pipeline Company with the change and authorized the installations. A copy of each • request is attached hereto. The Court acknowledged receipt of the Extension Service reports for January 1990 and acknowledged receipt of reports from County and Precinct offices showing revenues collected and remitted to the County Treasurer. At 10:26 a.m. the County Judge announced the meeting closed to the public so that the Court could meet in closed executive session to discuss personnel as allowed under Section (6252-17(2)(g) Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes. At 10:41 a.m. the County Judge announced the meeting open to the public. on motion by Commissioner Turner, seconded by Commissioner Sims, the Court voted unanimously to approve the request of the County Engineer to hire Clarence Cooks, Jr. at a pay group 6, step 3 position with no six month step increase. There being no further business to come before the Court, the meeting was adjourned.
