HomeMy WebLinkAbout1991-10-01-0100PM-SpecialCOMMISSIONERS' COURT SPECIAL MEETING OCTOBER 1, 1991 A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 1991, with the following members of the Court present: R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, Presiding; Gary Norton, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Mary Ann Ward, County Clerk. The following citizens and officials were in attendance: Ruth McLeod Executive Assistant Rosalie Todaro Auditor's Office Patricia Meronoff Bruchez, Goss, Thornton et al Kurt K. Sutton G&S Lumber Co., Inc. The Court held a hearing with Mr. Kurt Sutton on Tuesday, October, 1991 at 1:00 p.m. during which Mr. Sutton presented his facts regarding the delinquent taxes, penalty and interest owed on the property described as, C and S Lumber Co. Inc., Sutter's Mill $2, Bldg L, Unit 63, 1501 Stallings #63. Total amount due the County is as follows: Year Tax Due P&I Atty. Fees 1984 $169.04 $148.75 $47.67 1985 195.95 148.93 51.73 1986 222.45 142.37 54.72 1987 230.68 119.96 52.60 1988 189.58 75.83 39.84 1989 194.78 54.54 37.40 1990 216.74 28.18 00.00 $1,419.22 $718.56 $283.93 "RD", Brazos County Road Bonds 1984 $ 1.29 $ 1.14 S .36 1985 1.27 .97 .34 1986 1.21 .77 .30 $ 3.77 r = .88 S 1.00 TOTAL ASSESSMENT - $2,429.36 After listening to Mr. Sutton and conferring with legal counsel, the Court, on a motion by the County Judge, seconded by Commissioner Norton, voted unanimously to require Mr. j I Commissioners' Court meeting October 1, 1991 Sutton pay all penalty, interest and attorney fees on the 1984 taxes as originally billed, waive the penalty and attorney fees on the delinquent taxes for 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989 and 1990 and pay the interest due for the years 1985 through 1990 at 8 percent.
