NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
THE COMMISSIONERS' COURT WILL HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER
TRAFFIC REGULATIONS ON VARIOUS COUNTY ROADS IN BRAZOS COUNTY.
THE PUBLIC HEARING WILL BE HELD ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 1991,
AT 9:00 A.M. IN THE COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM OF THE BRAZOS COUNTY
COURTHOUSE, 300 EAST 26TH STREET, SUITE 115, BRYAN, TEXAS.

The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas held a
Public Hearing to consider traffic regulation on various
county roads pursuant to Section 2.301 of the County Road and
Bridge Act, Art. 6702-1 subchapter D, Vernons Civil Statutes
in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan,
Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday,
September 26, 1991, with the following members of the Court
present:
R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, Absent;
Gary Norton, Commissioner of Precinct 1, Presiding;
Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3, Absent;
Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4, Absent;
Mary Ann Ward, County Clerk.
The following citizens and officials were in attendance:

Frank Palermo Road & Bridge Department
The purpose of the Public Hearing was to hear commentary
for and against the proposed implementation of traffic
regulations. Speed limits are recommended for the following
locations:

mph
Curve #2 - 0.5 miles SE of Wallis Road
intersection (near winery), 25 mph
BROACH ROAD
Curve #1 - Minsik Road, intersection 20

COLLETTE LANE
Curve # 1 - "S" curve approximately 0.3
miles SW of Alexander Road intersection,
20 mph
ALEXANDER ROAD
Curve #1 - Near FM 974 20 mph
WALLIS ROAD
Curve #1 - Approximately 0.3 miles NE of
Old Reliance Road intersection existing
30 mph

Curve #1 - Approximately 0.4 miles SE of
Leonard Road, 20 mph
Curve #2 - Approximately 0.7 miles SE of

Shady Lane from Grassbur Road through
Shady Grove Subdivision, 35 mph
VISTA OAKS SUBDIVISION
Grove Drive from Shady Lane through Vista
Oaks Subdivision, 30 mph
WELLBORN OAKS SUBDIVISION
Recommended 15 mph throughout Subdivision
LOAD POSTING: The following road are recommended to be re-
posted from 58,420 lbs. to 30,000 lbs. gross vehicular weight.
Silver Hill Road - from SH 21 to Sandy Point Road
Pleasant Hill Road - from SH 21 W to Sandy Point Road
Lightsey Road - from FM 60 to River Road
River Road - from Lightsey Road to the end of River Road
White Creek Road - FM 60 to River Road and Lightsey Road
intersection
Commissioner Norton stated in his opening remarks that
proper notice of the hearing had been given according to law.
He outlined the procedures for the hearing and asked those in
attendance for any comments on the subject and asked that they
state their names and organization. Commissioner Norton noted
that there were no citizens in attendance.

Public Hearing September 2E, 1991
Holland Winder, County Engineer, stated that the load
post recommendations were based on criteria developed by the
State Department of Highways and Public Transportation for
tri-axle vehicles. Commissioner Wilcox asked if the 30,000 ;
pound limit was for through traffic or to service business.

Commissioner Wilcox then suggested that the permit system be
amended to include speed limits.
There being no further commentary, the Public Hearing was r
