Consider and take action on the approval to advertise for microfilm services for County Clerk's Office. 6. Consider and take action with the proceeding of the redis- tricting of Commissioners Precincts and Justice of the Peace Precincts and establishing guidelines. 7. Consider and take action on Preliminary Plat of Merker-Strawn Subdivision in Precinct 1. 8. Consider and take action on personnel change of status. 9. Consider and take action on payment of claims. 10. Adjourn. 10 , VO PAGE S : r t COMMISSIONERS' COURT SPECIAL MEETING APRIL 15, 1991 A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 1991, with the following members of the Court present: R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, Presiding; Gary Norton, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Mary Ann Ward, County Clerk. The following citizens and officials were in attendance: Ruth McLeod Carol Palmer Bea Green Rosalie Todaro Cheryl Turney A. H. Winder Ron Miller Jim Hiney Doris Children Tom (no last name) Jerry Merker Executive Assistant Admin. Asst. to County Judge Secretary to Commissioners Auditor's Office Auditor's Office County Engineer Sheriff Bryan/College Station Eagle KBTX-TV KBTX-TV Merker Remodeling Commissioner Sims gave the invocation and led the pledge of allegiance. The Court next considered Budget Amendment $91-009, which would transfer funds from the County Attorney's office and the 272nd District Court to the Non-Departmental Department. On motion by Commissioner Turner, seconded by Commissioner Sims, the Court voted unanimously to approve the budget amendment as submitted, a copy of which is attached hereto. The Court next considered awarding the following bids: Bid No. 91-605 - One (1) Investigator Vehicle for Sheriff's Department Bossier Tom Light Chrysler Chevrolet Dodge Unit Pr. On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commis- sioner Norton, the court voted unani- mously to accept the recommendation of the Purchasing Agent and award the contract to Appel Ford Mercury. J i l r } i y i i 1 i f 4 Cheryl Turney, Purchasing Agent, recom- mended acceptance of the only bid submit- ted by Tom Light Chevrolet. On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commis- sioner Norton, the Court voted unani- mously to accept the recommendation of the Purchasing Agent and award the contract to Tom Light Chevrolet. On motion by Commissioner Turner, seconded by Commis- sioner Norton, the Court voted unanimously to authorize the Purchasing Agent to advertise for microfilm services for the County Clerk's Office. The Court next considered proceeding with the redistricting of Commissioners Precincts and Justice of the Peace Precincts and establishing guidelines. On motion by Commissioner Norton, seconded by Commissioner Sims, the Court voted unanimously to adopt an Order to proceed with the redistricting of the Commissioners Precincts and the Justice of the Peace Precincts in accordance with the Voting Rights Act and with all other relevant law. A copy of the order is attached hereto. The Court next considered approval of the preliminary CJ plat of the Merker-Strawn Subdivision in Precinct 1. Holland Winder, County Engineer, stated that he had reviewed the plat and it appeared to be in order. It was noted that the property is within the ETJ of the City of College Station and will have to be approved by the City Council. On motion by Commissioners' Court meeting April 15, 1991 Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Turner, the Court unanimously approved the preliminary plat of the Merker-Strawn Subdivision subject to approval by the College Station City Council.
