COMMISSIONERS COURT FETING
The Commissioners Court will meet in Special Session on Monday,
October 1, 1990 at A M. in the Commissioners Courtroom of the
Brazos County Courthdti3s~,~300 East 26th Street, Suite 115, Bryan,
Texas to consider the following matters:
1. Consider and take action on ratifying action taken at the
Budget Hearing, Adoption of the Budget, and Setting the tax
rate for 1990.

SPECIAL MEETING
OCTOBER 1, 1990

A special meeting of the commissioners' Court of Brazos
County, Texas was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the
Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 11:00
a.m. on Monday, October 1, 1990, with the following members of
the Court present:
R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, Presiding;
Gary Norton, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Frank Boriskie, County Clerk.
The following citizens and officials were in attendance:
Ruth McLeod Executive Assistant
Bea Green Secretary to Commissioners
Rosalie Todaro Auditor's Office
Karen McQueen County Clerk's Office
Ron Miller Sheriff
Jim Hiney Bryan/College Station Eagle
on motion by Commissioner Norton, seconded by
Commissioner Turner, the Court voted unanimously to ratify the
action taken at the September 27, 1990 Budget Hearing.
Commissioner Norton then moved to adopt the County Budget for
1991 and declared it to be the budget to be followed by all
County department heads. Such budget to be filed in the
official records in the County Clerk's office. The motion was
seconded by Commissioner Turner and carried unanimously.
The Sheriff thanked the Court for all the effort that
went into preparing the budget and that he was appreciative of
the four (4) percent salary increase.
On motion by the County Judge, seconded by Commissioner
Norton, the Court voted unanimously to set the tax rate
for 1990 at $.4105 per hundred dollar valuation on all real
property in Brazos County. Commissioner Wilcox asked what
percentage this was. He was informed that it was .7996% above
the effective rate as published by the County Appraisal
District. This is less than the eight (8) percent roll back

County Judge announced
that the Commissioners'

hold a Public hearing on
the proposed tax rate at
10:00 a.m. on October 12, 1990 in the
Commissioners' Courtroom
and ordered
the proper notice be published according to law.
There being no further business
to come before the court,
the meeting
was adjourned.
