The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas held a
Public Hearing to consider traffic Regulation on various
county roads pursuant to Section 2.301 of the County Road and
Bridge Act, Art. 6702-1 subchapter D, Vernons Civil Statutes
in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan,
Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Monday,
September 24, 1990, with the following members of the Court
present:

R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, Absent;
Gary Norton, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2, Absent;
Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3, Presiding;
Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4, Absent;
' Frank Boriskio, County Clerk.
The following citizens and officials were in attendance:

The purpose of the Public Hearing was to hear commentary
for and against the proposed implementation of traffic
regulations in the following locations:
South Oakland Lane - a Dead End Sign, a 20 mph Speed
Limit Sign and a Stop Sign at the intersection of South
Oakland Lane and Oak Lake Road
North Oakland Lane - a Stop Sign at the intersection of
North Oakland Road and Oak Lake Road, a 20 mph Speed
f Limit Sign and a Dead End Sign
Commissioner Sims stated in his opening remarks that

proper notice of the hearing had been given according to law.
He outlined the procedures for the hearing and asked those in
attendance for any comments on the subject and asked that they
state their names and organization.
Jane Wright - stated that South Oakland Lane was a very
narrow dirt road with no shoulders. People drive 40 to
50 mph up and down the road. She said it was in the best
interest of the Subdivision to have the Sheriff
I Commissioners' Court Public Hearing September 26. 1990
enforce a 20 mph speed limit.
Commissioner Norton - stated there was no reason to go
any faster on the road since it takes one minute and
fifteen seconds to go from one end to the other at a
speed of 20 mph.
Commissioner Sims asked if there were any other
questions. There were none. He then announced the Public
Hearing closed. He stated consideration of the proposed
regulatory signs would be put on the agenda of the
Commissioners' Court meeting of October 1, 1990.
Janet Wright asked about "Children at Play " and "Dead
End" signs. She was informed that they were merely advisory
signs. Mrs. Wright thanked the Court for consideration of the
regulatory signs.
There being no further business to come before the Court,
the meeting was adjourned.
