E I% VOL-FAGE.1p03 i s COMMISSIONERS' COURT SPECIAL MEETING JULY 30, 1990 A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, July 30, 1990, with the following members of the Court present: R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, Presiding; Gary Norton, Commissioner of Precinct 1, Absent; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2, Absent; Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4, Absent; Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. The following citizens and officials were in attendance: Bea Green A. H. Winder Phyllis Dozier Mary Ann Ward Jim Hiney Ronald M. Young John R. Strapp John Spang Jack Cumpton Secretary to commissioners County Engineer Brazos Center County Clerk's Office Bryan/College Station Eagle Museum Director Museum Board of Directors Museum Board of Directors Architect The Court met to consider and take action on the plans for the expansion of the Brazos Valley Museum. There was not a quorum present so no action could be taken this day. Judge Holmgreen voiced objection to the entrance, stating he feared a loss of seating space at the east end of the building. Jack Cumpton, Architect, informed the County Judge that no seating would be lost. once assured of that, the County Judge had no objection to the plans and that he was satisfied with the design. The County Judge asked the Architect to give an estimate on the cost of adding an additional bay to the west side of the building. The court was informed that the plans will be finalized within the next thirty to forty-five days. The plans will then be put out to bid sometime in September then have ground breaking around November 1, 1990.
