SPECIAL MEETING
JULY 2, 1990

A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos
County, Texas was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the
Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:00
a.m. on Monday, July 2, 1989, with the following members of
the Court present:
R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, Presiding;
Gary Norton, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Frank Boriskie, County Clerk.
The following citizens and officials were in attendance:

Commissioner Sims gave the invocation and led the pledge
of allegiance.
The first matter before the Court was a proposal to
j remove gasoline tanks off the Kimbro property on FM 60.
Commissioner Sims stated he received two (2) proposals, one
from McClelland Engineering for $10,185.00 and the other from
Environmental Strategies for $5,250.00. He indicated that the
County will contract directly with the removal company and the
laboratory to help defray the cost. He said he would
investigate the liability insurance coverage of the removal
company so as to protect the'county. The County Judge moved
to award the contract to Environmental Strategies with the
stipulation that the liability coverage is adequate to protect
the county. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Sims and
carried unanimously.

Commissioner Sims questioned the payment of late charges
to Walmart and asked if it was the Department Heads' fault.
On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner
Sims, the Court voted unanimously to ask the County Judge to
send a memo to the Department Head regarding submission of
requistions in time to prevent payment of late charges. On
motion by the County Judge, seconded by Commissioner Sims,
the Court voted unanimously to approve the Claims as
submitted.
There being no further business to come before the Court,
the meeting was adjourned.
