BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS' COURT MEETING
MONDAY, MARCH 12, 1990, 2:00 P.M.
1. Consider and take action on orders calling an election
for or against the creation of Rural Prevention District
No. 1 and Rural Fire Prevention No. 4, and for the au-
thorization of the levy of a tax not to exceed three
cents on $100 valuation on real property within the
districts.

SPECIAL MEETING
MARCH 12, 1990
A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos
County, Texas was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the
• Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
on Monday, March 12, 1990, with the following members of the
Court present:
R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, Presiding;
Gary Norton, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Frank Boriskie, County Clerk, Absent.

The first matter before the Court was consideration of an
Order calling an election for or against the creation of Rural
Fire Prevention District No. 1 and for authorization of the levy
of a tax not to exceed three cents ($.03) on $100 valuation on
real property within the district. On motion by Commissioner
Norton, seconded by Commissioner Sims, the Court voted
unanimously to approve the order calling for an election in votin
precincts 1, 2 and 28 for the creation of Rural Fire Prevention
District #1.
E The Court next considered an Order call an election for or

against the creation of Rural Fire Prevention District No. 4 and
for authorization of the levy of a tax not to exceed three cents
(S.03) on $100 valuation on real property within the district.

On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Wilco:,
the Court voted unanimously to approve the Order calling for an
election in voting precincts 3, 29 and 30 for the creation of
Rural Fire Prevention District #4.
There being no further business to come before the Court,
the meeting was adjourned.

ON THIS THE 12th of March, 1990, came on to be heard by*the
Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, after the filing of
a Petition for the creation of a Rural Fire Prevention District,.
filed herein on the lot day of February, 1990, praying that this
court order an election to be held within certain voting
precincts of the county for the purpose of enabling the voters
thereof, to determine whether they desire to have a Rural Fire
Prevention District established therein, and such petition being
heard, and it appearing to the court that such petition is in due
form and all the necessary prerequisites for the establishment of
such district have been satisfied, and that such petition should
be granted, IT IS ACCORDINGLY ORDERED that on may 5, 1990 such
date being not less than thirty (30) nor more than sixty (60)
days from the date hereof, an election be held throughout voting
precincts two (2) twenty-eight (28) and one (1) of Brazos County
for the purpose of enabling the voters of such precincts to
determine whether they desire to have these precincts organized
into a Rural Fire Prevention District to be designated the Brazos
County Rural Fire Prevention District No. 1 and for the
authorization of the levy of a tax on the taxpayers of such
precincts not to exceed three cents ($.03) on one hundred dollar
($100.00) valuation of real property lying within such proposed
Rural Fire Prevention District.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the City Secretary of the City of
College Station act as the Absentee Voting Clerk for this
election and that absentee voting by personal appearance be
conducted each weekday beginning on April 16, 1990 and continuing
through May 1, 1990 at the City Secretary's Office, College
Station Municipal Building 1101 Texas Avenue, College Station,
Texas.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that such election be held and
conducted and the returns thereof made in accordance with the
state laws regulating elections insofar as the same are
applicable and that a public notice of such special election be

published by posting a copy of the notice at the County
Courthouse Door at twenty (20) days prior to the date of the
election and additionally that such notice be published in a
newspaper of general circulation in the proposed Rural Fire
Prevention District once a week for two (2) consecutive weeks,
with the first publication thereof being made at least twenty
(20) days prior to the date of the election.

ORDEN
EN ES?E DIA el 12 de marzo de 1990, tuvo audencia con la Corte
de Comissionados, despues fue archivada una peticion para la creacion
de un Distrito Rural Impeditivo de Fuego, el dia 1 de feareo de 1990,
suplicando que esta Corte ordene una eleccion dentro ciertos
precintos de votacion del condado con el proposito que los votantes
decidan si desean tener el Distrito Rural Imeditivo de Fuego y cual
peticion fue examinada y comparencencia a la Corte que cual peticion
esta en forma correcta y cual todos requisitos necesarios para el
establecimiento de cual distrito estan satisfechos y cual peticion
sea concedida. En conformidad en el dia 5-de Mayo de 1990, cual
fecha es no menos de trienta (30) y no mas de sesenta (60) dias de la
fecha de aqui, una eleccion'sera sostenida por todo los precintos de
votacion numeros uno (1) dos (2) y veinte y ocho (28) del condado de
Brazos pare el proposito de habilitar los votantes de tal precintos
organizarse en un Distrito Rural Impeditivo de Fuego nombrado
Distritio Rural Impeditivo numero 1 y tambien obtener autorizacion
pare leventar un impuesto de cual precintos que no sera mas de tree
($.03) centavos en valuacion de cada cien ($100) dolares de bienes
inmueblas cual esta dentro el distrito Rural Impeditivo de Fuego cual
esta propoeito.
Tar:,ien se ordene que el secretario de la ciudad de College
Station sera el secretario de las votaciones en ausencia de esta
eleccion y que la votacion en ausencia sera sostenida cada dia de la
semana empezando el dia 16 abril de 1990 continuanda haste el dia 1
de mayo de 1990 en la oficina del secretario College Station

Aqui dentro tambien se ordena, que tal eleccion sera sostenida y
administrada y los retornos de la eleccion seran en acuerdo con las
leyes del estado de Texas governando eleccions en cuando que las
mismas aplican y que un aviso publico de tal eleccion sea publicado
por una copia del avisio puesta en la puerta del palacio de justicia
veinte (20) dias antes de la fecha de la eleccion y ademas que tal
aviso sea publicado en un periodico de circulacion general en el
Distrito Rural Impeditivo de Fuego propuesto una vez a la semana por
dos semanas en sucesivo. La primera publicacion de esto que sea a to
menos de veinte (20) dial antes de la fecha de la eleccion.
DESCENDIDO ESTE el dia 12 de marzo de 1990.

in due form and all the necessary prerequisites for the
establishment of such district have been satisfied, and that such

May-5, 1989 such date being not less than thirty (30) nor more

que esta Corte ordene una eleccion dentro ciertos
precintos de votacion
del condado con el proposito que los votantes decidan si desean tener el
Distrito Rural Imeditivo de Fuego y cual peticion fue examinada y
comparencencia a la Corte que cual peticion esta en forma correcta y cual
todos requisitos necesarios para el establecimiento de cual distrito estan
satisfechos y cual peticion sea concedida. En conformidad en el dia 5 de
