J. Holmgreen, County Judge, Presiding; Gary Norton, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Frank Boriskie, County Clerk, Absent. • The following citizens and officials were in attendance: Ruth McLeod Executive Assistant Bea Green Secretary to Commissioners Carol Palmer Admin. Jones Brazos County Resident The first matter before the Court was consideration of an Order calling an election for or against the creation of Rural Fire Prevention District No. 1 and for authorization of the levy of a tax not to exceed three cents ($.03) on $100 valuation on real property within the district. On motion by Commissioner Norton, seconded by Commissioner Sims, the Court voted unanimously to approve the order calling for an election in votin precincts 1, 2 and 28 for the creation of Rural Fire Prevention District #1. E The Court next considered an Order call an election for or i against the creation of Rural Fire Prevention District No. 4 and for authorization of the levy of a tax not to exceed three cents (S.03) on $100 valuation on real property within the district. On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Wilco:, the Court voted unanimously to approve the Order calling for an election in voting precincts 3, 29 and 30 for the creation of Rural Fire Prevention District #4. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the City Secretary of the City of College Station act as the Absentee Voting Clerk for this election and that absentee voting by personal appearance be conducted each weekday beginning on April 16, 1990 and continuing through May 1, 1990 at the City Secretary's Office, College Station Municipal Building 1101 Texas Avenue, College Station, Texas. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that such election be held and conducted and the returns thereof made in accordance with the state laws regulating elections insofar as the same are applicable and that a public notice of such special election be VOL~PAGE a42- ......--.A r, w, a..l. ._..u~. cam.- - - ~y i i i i d i • • published by posting a copy of the notice at the County Courthouse Door at twenty (20) days prior to the date of the election and additionally that such notice be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the proposed Rural Fire Prevention District once a week for two (2) consecutive weeks, with the first publication thereof being made at least twenty (20) days prior to the date of the election. En conformidad en el dia 5-de Mayo de 1990, cual fecha es no menos de trienta (30) y no mas de sesenta (60) dias de la fecha de aqui, una eleccion'sera sostenida por todo los precintos de votacion numeros uno (1) dos (2) y veinte y ocho (28) del condado de Brazos pare el proposito de habilitar los votantes de tal precintos organizarse en un Distrito Rural Impeditivo de Fuego nombrado Distritio Rural Impeditivo numero 1 y tambien obtener autorizacion pare leventar un impuesto de cual precintos que no sera mas de tree ($.03) centavos en valuacion de cada cien ($100) dolares de bienes inmueblas cual esta dentro el distrito Rural Impeditivo de Fuego cual esta propoeito. Aqui dentro tambien se ordena, que tal eleccion sera sostenida y administrada y los retornos de la eleccion seran en acuerdo con las leyes del estado de Texas governando eleccions en cuando que las mismas aplican y que un aviso publico de tal eleccion sea publicado por una copia del avisio puesta en la puerta del palacio de justicia veinte (20) dias antes de la fecha de la eleccion y ademas que tal aviso sea publicado en un periodico de circulacion general en el Distrito Rural Impeditivo de Fuego propuesto una vez a la semana por dos semanas en sucesivo. La primera publicacion de esto que sea a to menos de veinte (20) dial antes de la fecha de la eleccion. DESCENDIDO ESTE el dia 12 de marzo de 1990. Tambien se ordena que el secretario de is ciudad de Bryan y el secretario de la ciudad de College Station seran los secretarios de las votaciones de ausencia de esta eleccion y que la votacion en ausencia sera sostenida cada dia de la semana empezando el dia 16 de abril 1990 continuando pasta el dia 1 de mayo de 1990 en la•oficina del secretario de la ciudad de Bryan, Bryan Municipal Building, 300 Texas Avenue, Bryan, Texas y la oficina del secretario de la ciudad de College Station, College VOL i 1 •r • Station Municipal Building, 110 1 Texas Avenue, College Station, Texas.
