J. Holmgreen, County Judge, Presiding; Gary Norton, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Frank Boriskie, County Clerk Absent. The first matter before the Court was consideration of approval of resolutions authorizing applications for grants for the following programs: 1. Texas Narcotics 'Control Program - The Court considered adopting a Resolution authorizing application for a grant to support the Brazos Valley Narcotics Trafficking Task Force that is administered by the District Attorney's office. Such grant to be in the total amount of $515,309; twenty five percent (258)'or $121,327 to be funded by the County, seventy five percent (758) or $363,982 to be federally funded and $30,000 will come from the City of Bryan in the form of an additional officer. The City of College Station will add an additional officer in the fall and Vu- SAG 3 1 I ,t _i Ahlb Brazos County will add an additional officer immediately. The grant will run from June 1, 1990 through May 31, 1991. On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court voted unanimously to authorize the County Judge to make application on behalf of Brazos County to the Criminal Justice Division and accept on behalf of Brazos County such grant funds as may be tendered. A copy of the resolution is attached hereto. 2. Purchase of Juvenile Services - The Court next considered adopting a Resolution authorizing application for a grant to purchase Juvenile Services for status offenders (runaways,.truants) crisis counseling, emergency shelter etc. that is administered by the Juvenile Services Department. Such grant to be in the total amount of $3,888 which is 1008 percent state funded. On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court voted unanimously to authorize the County Judge to make application on behalf of Brazos County to the Criminal Justice Division and accept on behalf of Brazos County such grant funds as may be tendered. A copy of the resolution is attached hereto. 3. The Court next considered adopting a Resolution authorizing application for a grant to replicate model juvenile justice projects that is administered by the Juvenile Services Department. Such grant to be in the total amount of $28,705; sixty percent (60%) or $16,920.00 to be funded by the County, forty percent (408) or $11,785.00 to be state funded. On motion by Commissioner Norton, seconded by Commissioner Turner, the Court voted unanimously to authorize the County Judge to make application on behalf of Brazos County to the Criminal Justice Division and accept on behalf of Brazos County such grant funds as may be tendered. A copy of the resolution is attached hereto. ,The Court next considered Budget Amendment # 3, which would reallocate funds budgeted for the Boonville Cemetery Fund and the Road 6 Bridge $2 Fund. On motion by Commissioner Turner, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the court voted unanimously to approve the budget amendment as submitted, a copy of which is attached hereto. THE S'PA'TE OE' TEXAS COUNTY OF BRAZOS A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR GRANT FROM TEXAS NARCOTICS CONTROL PROGRAM WHEREAS, the Anti-Drug Act of 1988 was signed into law by President Ronald Reagan in order to strengthen local law enforcement efforts to combat the spread of narcotics trafficking; and WHEREAS, the State of Texas will receive federal grant funding for the Texas Narcotics Control Program under the Anti- Drug Abuse Act of 1988, P.L. 100-690; and WHEREAS, the Governor of Texas, has designated the Criminal Justice Division, Office of the Governor, to administer the program in the form of grants to state agencies and local units of government; and WHEREAS, Brazos County has a continuing need for aid to local law enforcement agencies in enforcing the Texas Controlled Substances Act and Dangerous Drugs Act; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSIONERS COURT OF BRAZOS COUNTY at its meeting on the 12th day of March, 1990 that: 1. The County Judge of Brazos County, acting on behalf of Brazos County be authorized to make application to the Criminal Justice Division, office of the Governor, for grant funds to be used for the apprehension, detection, and enforcement of the laws pertaining to the Texas Controlled Substances Act and Dangerous Drugs Act; and 2. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSIONER'S COURT OF BRAZOS COUNTY at its meeting on the 12th day of March, 1990, that: 1.
