V i • • i • COMMISSIONERS' COURT SPECIAL MEETING NOVEMBER 27, 1989 ~i t f i~ t t F I A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County was held in the Commissioners Courtroom in the Brazos County Courthouse in Aryan, Brazos County, Texas beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 1989, with the following members of the Court present: R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, Presiding; Gary Norton, Commissioner of Precinct l; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Frank Roriskie, County Clerk. The following citizens and officials were in attendance: Ruth McLeod Executive Assistant Carol Palmer Admin. Asst, to County Judge Rhonda Seaton Auditor's Office Shelly Lambert Treasurer's Office Raymond H. Day Constable Pct. 1 Tom Lyons Justice of the Peace Pct. 1 Ray Truelove Justice of the Peace Pct. 3 Ron Miller Sher.'.ff J. R. Burkhalter Constable Pct. 2 George Boyett Justice of the Peace Pct 7-1 Ray Porn Deputy Constable Pct. 4 Mary C. Forn Justice of the Peace Pct. 2 Derik Matejka Constable Pct. 3 Antone Dobrovolny Justice of the Peace Pct. 5 Elizabeth Sharp Bryan/College Station Eagle Alice Brown KBTX-TV John Niell KBTX-TV Dick Britten Brazos County Resident Billy Payne Thornton, Payne, Watson & Kling The purpose of the meeting was to hear commentary for and against the proposed reduction of the number of Justice of the Peace and Constable Precincts to a number less than six prior to the deadline for filing for the 1990 elections so that all interested parties may become candidates for such offices as will be established effective January 1, 1991. The County Judge stated in his opening remarks that proper notice of the meeting had been given according to law. He then stated there would be no action on an order calling a Public Hearing on the realigning Justice of the Peace and Constable precincts. There being no further business to come before the Court, the meeting was adjourned.
