Consider and take action authorizing the County Judge to execute the following Quit Claim Deeds to: (a) Mount Enterprise Primitive Baptist Church (b) R. L. Carroll and the Estate of Elva Carroll 8. Adjourn •;1 f` l VO PAG r, .r I COMMISSIONERS' COURT REGULAR MEETING I FEBRUARY 13, 1989 i A regular meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 13, 1989, with the following members of the Court present: R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, Presiding; Gary Norton, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. Bradley Elks Lodge i Ken Nutz Brazos County Resident Art Sanders Brazos County Resident Jeff Haislet Brazos County 9-1-1 Margaret Reese Tax Payer Commissioner Sims gave the invocation and lead the pledge of i allegiance. The Court acknowledged receipt of the Extension Service reports for January 1989: The Court acknowledged receipt of reports from County and Precinct Offices showing revenues collected and remitted to the County Treasurer. An excerpt from those reports is attached hereto. The County Judge read aloud a Proclamation proclaiming the week of February 20 through 26, 1989 as "National Patriotism Week". The Court joins with the local Elks Lodge and other leaders in the community in promoting patriotism throughout this i ;j i l go. R. area. On motion by Commissioner Turner, seconded by Commissioner Norton, the Court moved to proclaim the week of February 20 through 26, 1989 as "National Patriotism Week" throughout Brazos • County. The County Judge then presented the signed Proclamation • to Eugene C. Oats, representing the local Elks Lodge. The Court heard a request from Sheriff Ron Miller concerning the Brazos County Emergency Communications District. Sheriff Miller was seeking approval and funding to obtain independent technical assistance to develop a detailed plan outlining steps to be taken by each entity for the implementation of a centralized dispatch in Brazos County. On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Norton-, the Court voted unanimously to seek technical assistance for a central dispatch for the Emergency Communications District. The Court next considered a written request from Constable r Precinct 4, Louis Garcia, for the appointment of Charles Ray Horn and Charles Raymond Melesky as Deputy Constable and Reserve Deputy Constable Precinct 4. The court was informed that the men had met all requirements. Then on motion by Commissioner Norton, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court voted unanimously to approve the request of Constable Garcia and approve the appointment of Charles Ray Horn Deputy Constable and Charles Raymond Melesky as Reserve Deputy Constable Precinct 4. The Court next considered approval of the preliminary plats of Plantation Wood Subdivision and Plantation Meadow Subdivision in Precinct 1. Commissioner Wilcox questioned the width of Dowling Road as it did not appear on the plat of Plantation Meadow Subdivision. Referencing the same plat at the inside curve of I&GN Road, he mentioned that the subdivision regulations require a twenty five foot (251) set back on both sides of a road where there is less that a ninety degree (901) turn. Holland • Winder, County Engineer and Don Garrett, the Engineer who prepared the plat, stated that those items would be addressed on the final plat. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Sims, the Court unanimously approved the preliminary plats of Plantation Wood and Plantation Meadow Subdivisions, VG L V PAGE I ai k. ~I 1 subject to the provisions stated above. j On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Norton, the Court voted unanimously to authorize the County Judge , to execute Quit Claim Deeds to Mount Enterprise Primitive Baptist 'Church and to R. L. Carroll and the Estate of Elva Carroll for right-of-way along Elmo Weedon Road. The Court proceeded to consider the change of status of the following employees.
