An emergency meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos
County, Texas was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the
(Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 3:00
;,p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 1988, with the following members of
l;the Court present:
R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, Presiding;
II Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1, Absent;
Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Billy E. Beard, Commissioner of Precinct 3, Absent;
Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Frank Boriskie, County Clerk.
The following citizens and officials were in attendance:

Carol Palmer Admin. Asst. to County Judge
l The Court considered the issuance of a letter of credit in
the amount of $200,000 to Northwestern National Insurance Company
and the payment of the fee for the issuance of the letter of
credit. The letter of credit being required by Northwestern was
(due to the manner in which the County was authorized to submit
,,the premiums. David Adkinson, the County's insurance
ilIlconsultant, had offered to reduce his fee by the amount of the
fee since he was unable to get Northwestern National to waive the
A ssuance of the letter of credit.
Commissioner Turner moved to authorize the County Judge to
sign a letter of credit in the amount of $200,000 and to reduce
~'the consultant's fee by one-half of the cost of issuance of the
I
letter. The motion was seconded by the County Judge with
commissioner Turner and the County Judge voting "Aye".
ommissioner Wilcox abstained.
There being no further business to come before the Court,
he meeting was adjourned.
