Jim Mazurkiewicz, County Extension Agent; 4 Carolyn Nobles, County Extension Agent; Betsy Harkey, County Extension Agent; i~ Monty Dozier, County Extension Agent. ' The Court received, considered and approved reports from County and Precinct Officers showing revenues collected and remitted to the County Treasurer. An excerpt from those reports is attached hereto. The County Judge read aloud a Proclamation proclaiming 11 Wednesday, July 13, 1988 as 'Brazos County Blood Day". The Court i joins with the local Red Cross Chapter to promote awareness I within the community of its responsibility in seeing that blood is available in sufficient quantities to meet the needs of all V AGE 5 9~ 1 I i 'I Commissioners' Court meeting July 11, 1988 ' i, hospital patients. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by I Commissioner Beard, the Court moved to proclaim Wednesday, July; I 13, 1988 as "Brazos County Blood Day" throughout Brazos County. The County Judge then presented the signed Proclamation to Mrs. I~ Rhonda Seaton and Sgt. Randy Schaub, representing the local Red Cross Chapter. The Court next considered approval of the minutes of the Commissioners' Court meetings held May 23, 1988. On motion by ` Commissioner Turner, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court voted unanimously to approve the minutes as submitted. The Court next considered Budget Amendment #15, which would reallocate funds budgeted for the departments of Purchasing,, ' County Court at Law II, Data Processing, Brazos Center, County iJudge, Commissioners Court and Environmental Protection. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court voted unanimously to approve the budget amendment as submitted, a copy of which is attached hereto. ii i The Court next considered awarding the following bids: Bid No. 88-433 - Annual Fencing Supplies Contract for Road Bridge Department Item Description 1. On motion by Commissioner Turner, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court voted unanimously to accept the recommendation of the Purchasing Agent and award the contract to Farm and Ranch and Producers Co-op. In his motion Commis- sioner Wilcox stated he would like the contract awarded to Universal Bridge Construction Company, and that Ellison Construction Company be named as alternate. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Turner, the Court voted unanimously to accept the recommendation of the Purchasing Agent and award the contract to Universal Bridge Construction Company and named Ellison Construction Company as the alternate. Commissioner Wilcox also stated that he would like to see separate bids mailed out for the drilling of the pilings. Bid No. 88-442 - Furnish and Install Fuel System for County Shop Item Quant. At 10:26 a.m. the County Judge announced the meeting closed it to the public so that the Court could meet in closed executive 'I session to discuss personnel. I, At 11.15 a.m. the County Judge announced the meeting open to the public. On motion by Commissioner Beard, seconded by, If Commissioner Turner, the Court voted unanimously to deny the it request by the Sheriff to allow employees in the Sheriff's Department to donate vacation time to Gary Lively for time to recover from back surgery. The Judge stated that the action was I illegal. I I On motion by Commissioner Beard, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court voted unanimously to delay action on the request of Phyliss Dozier, Director of the Brazos Center, until; j budget time. Commissioner Wilcox moved to approve the request of the Justice of Peace, Precinct 4 Place 2 for authorization to reclassify one employee in that department from a pay group 5 to I 1 {I pay group 7. Commissioner Cooley seconded the motion. In a show , i of hands, Commissioners Wilcox and Cooley and the County Judge voted "Aye'. Commissioners Turner and Beard voted 'No'.
