J. Holmgreen, County Judge, Absent; Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2, Presiding; Billy E. Beard, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. Home Park The Court received, approved and ordered filed as submitted the following reports for May 1988: Jim Mazurkiewicz, County Extension Agent; Carolyn Nobles, County Extension Agent; Betsy Harkey, County Extension Agent; Monty Dozier, County Extension Agent. The Court received, considered and approved reports from County and Precinct officers showing revenues collected and remitted to the County Treasurer. An excerpt from those reports is attached hereto. The Court next considered approval of the minutes of the Commissioners' Court meetings held May 16, 1988. On motion by Commissioner Beard, seconded by Commissioner Turner, the Court voted unanimously to approve the minutes as submitted. The Court next considered approval of two road dedication plats for Dowling Road in Precinct 1. Commissioner Cooley stated AG -1p~ M 1. ~ f • lCommissioners' Court meeting June 13, 1988 Ithat the two plats showed existing right-of-way. Holland Winder, County Engineer, requested that the plats show actual road width. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Beard, ►the Court unanimously approved the two road dedication plats Isubject to the plats showing actual road widths. The next matter before the Court was consideration of a • • Suit claim deed for a portion of the I & GN Road right of way in i~ ?recinct 1. The property lies within the city limits of College Station but is owned by the County. Commissioner Cooley explained that the property owner of the Holiday Mobil Home Park 9iscovered during a recent survey of the property, that there is l 1/2 acre encroachment into the right of way and he is asking I .he county for a quit claim deed for that portion of the road since he has been using the land for twenty years. This would ;till leave a 80' right-of-way as required by the City of 'ollege Station. Commissioner Wilcox requested the matter be .abled until Judge Holmgreen returns and to allow time for legal nvestigation stating that he had not had the time to study the equest. Commissioner Cooley stated that there was some urgency n the request and questioned why the Court wanted to delay ction. The Court was informed that Mr. David Pullen of the City f College Station had seen the plat and that he had voiced oncern that the Wellborn Water Supply lines in the right-of-way ere not included on the plat. Commissioner Beard moved to table onsideration until the next meeting. Commissioner Turner econded the motion. Commissioners Beard, Turner and Wilcox oted 'Aye', Commissioner Cooley abstained. Commissioner Cooley bjected to the decision of the Court re-stating that the developer was in need of the quit claim deed and asked again that the meeting be recessed until Wednesday to grant his request. The next matter before the Court was consideration of initiating a system for the direct deposit of payroll checks for interested County employees. Sandie Walker, County Treasurer, explained the benefits of the system and informed the Court that eighty five employees had requested direct deposits of payroll i 1 VOLU _PAGES1 -3 Commissioners, Court meeting June 13, 1988 checks. On motion by Commissioner Beard, seconded by~ Commissioner Wilcox, the Court voted unanimously to initiate the system of direct deposit of payroll checks for interested county i employees. The motion died for lack of a second.
