Adjourn I i 1 r~ r ! ~ I ' I ~ r VO PAGE COMMISSIONERS' COURT REGULAR MEETING APRIL 11, 1988 A regular meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 11, 1988, with the following members of the ourt present: R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, Presiding; Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Billy E. Beard, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. Put. 3 Dick Britten Brazos County Resident The Court received, approved and ordered filed as submitted he following reports for March 1988: Jim Mazurkiewicz, County Extension Agent; Carolyn Nobles, County Extension Agent; Betsy Harkey, County Extension Agent; Monty Dozier, County Extension Agent. The Court received, considered and approved reports from ounty and Precinct officers showing revenues collected and emitted to the County Treasurer. An excerpt from those reports s attached hereto. The first matter for consideration by the Court was a request by County Extension Agent, Jim Mazurkiewicz, for funds or out of state travel for himself and two other agents. On otion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Turner, he Court voted unanimously to grant the request of the County gent for'funds for himself and two other agents to attend onferences out of state. Mr. Mazurkiewicz also took the pportunity to invite the members of the Court to the second nnual Cow Calf Clinic to be held April 29, 1988. This ducational clinic is being held in conjunction with voting on he Beef Referendum. If the Referendum were to pass, one dollar rom the purchase price of each head of cattle sold or imported nto this country would go into an educational fund for the urpose of promoting the sale of beef and for research in better eeding techniques. The Court next considered approval of the minutes of the ommissioners' Court meeting held March 28, 1988. On motion by ommissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Turner, the Court oted unanimously to approve the minutes as submitted. Under other business, Commissioner Cooley informed the Court f the Rotary Club program working in conjunction with Brazos eautiful for planting trees. Any individual in the community an purchase a tree in memory of an individual, have it planted n an area especially designated by the cities of Bryan and ollege Station or Brazos County and have perpetual care. ommissioner Cooley asked if the Court would be interested in edicating a special spot for this project. It was the consensus f the Court to designate Boonville Cemetery for the program. The County Judge announced CPR classes being offered by the afety Committee in conjunction with the local Woman's Club for nterested county employees and their spouses on May 4th and 5th t the Woman's Club on Carter Creek from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. e stated that he hoped all County employees would take advantage f the free classes because it was a worthwhile project. The County Judge announced that the County had closed the gale on the Safeway Building on Thursday, April 7, 1988. There being no further business to come before the Court, :he meeting was adjourned.
