Action,on Executive Session. • 9. t Adjourn 3 ~ f, I 1 f I I 2 COMMISSIONERS' COl SPECIAL MEETING JANUARY 25, 1988 A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10,00 a.m. on Monday, January 25, 1988, with the following members of the Court present: R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, Presiding; Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Billy E. Beard, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. The following citizens and officials were in attendance: Ruth McLeod Administrative Assistant Carol Snedeker Admin. Asst. to County Judge Bea Green Secretary to Commissioners Rosalie Todaro Auditor's Office Sandie Walker Treasurer Terri White Deputy Treasurer Travis Nelson District Clerk Louis Garcia Constable Precinct 4 Cathy Bryan Engineer's Office Lisa Keyes KBTX-TV Ramiro Quintero Brazos County Resident L. G. Crum Candidate County Comm. Pct. 3 Howard Porterfield Candidate County Comm. Pct. 3 Marc Hamlin Candidate County Comm. Pct. 3 Bubba Moore Candidate County Comm. Pct. 3 L. B. Martin Visitor The Court considered approval of the minutes of the Commissioners' Court meetings held October 19, 1987 and November 2, 1987. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Beard, the Court vote unanimously to approve the minutes as submitted. The Court proceeded to consider the approval of an amended lease agreement with Nantucket Diversified Joint Venture for the lease of office space for the offices of Justice of Peace Precinct 7 Place 1 and 2. On motion by Commissioner Beard, seconded by Commissioner Turner, the Court voted unanimously to approve the amended lease agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto. The Court next heard a brief overview of the operation of the Contract Procurement Office from Commissioner Beard. The AQ E i I !I zl r Y ` i { , r, Oil • H 1 Commissioners' Court meeting January 25, 1988 Commissioner then moved for funding in the amount of $5,00 in support of the Office to defray the cost of doing business if it was determined that the County could do so legally. Commissioner Turner seconded the motion which carried unanimously. Commis- sioner Cooley stated that if it was determined that it was a legal subsidy then the money could come from corporate funds. The Court next considered the following Claims as submitted by the County Treasurer for payment: 10 General Fund------------Claims 97656 thru 97951 20 Road & Bridge-----------Claims 97983 thru 98088 40 Law Library-------------Claims 97952 thru 97953 54 Health Department-------Claims 97975 thru 97978 90 Community Services Off--Claims 97982 thru On line checks - 37310 On motion by Commissioner Beard, seconded by Commissioner Turner, the Court voted unanimously to approve the Claims as submitted. At 10:10 a.m. the County Judge announced the meeting would be closed to the the public in order for the Court to meet in executive session to discuss Personnel in accordance with Article 6252-17, Section 2(g). At 10:30 a.m. the County Judge announced the meeting open to the public and that no action would be taken on the closed session. Milton Turner Fran Boriski Commissioner, Precinct 4 County Clerk VO :r 'I _ (r t • • • I t t t 4 MODIFICATION AGREEMENT THIS AGREEMENT IS MADE this day of , 19& by and between NANTUCKET DIVERSIFIED JOINT VE RE of Brazos County, Texas (hereinafter referred to as "Lessor"), and BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS (hereinafter referred to as "Lessee"). WHEREAS, the parties entered into a Lease Agreement dated January 1, 1986 covering two (2) offices in a building located in the Nantucket subdivision, Brazos County, Texas; and WHEREAS, the parties mutually desire to modify the terms and provisions contained in said Lease; NOW, THEREFORE, FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION of the mutual benefits and obligations described herein, the receipt and sufficiency of which are hereby acknowledged, the parties hereto agree that the said Lease be, and the same is hereby, amended as follows: 1. The Lease Premises shall be increased to include 4.4/9 additional square feet of office space. 2. Pursuant to the renegotiation of rent provision of the Lease and as a consequence of the increased rental space, the rent for the 1988 Lease term shall be $800.00 per month. This rent shall remain subject to readjustment as stated in the original Lease. In all other respects, except as herein modified, the terms and provisions of said Lease shall remain in full force and effect. This Modification shall have the same force and effect as if incorporated in the original Lease, and shall take precedence thereover. i t s t s t 1 J r IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have duly executed this Agreement as of the date hereinabove written.
