Adjourn C] VOL PAC E _ r. 1 'VO COMMISSIONERS' COURT SPECIAL MEETING JANUARY 19, 1988 A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 1Os00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 1988, with the following members of the Court presents R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, Presiding; Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Billy E. Beard, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. Winder County Engineer Travis Nelson District Clerk Sandie Walker Treasurer Louis Garcia Constable Precinct 4 Winfred Pittman Constable Precinct 7 Cathy Bryan Engineer's Office Ronnie Crocker Bryan/College Station Eagle Alice Brown KBTX-TV Sal Rios KBTX-TV Ramiro Quintero Brazos County Resident The Court first considered Budget Amendment 030 for the 1987 budget year, which would reallocate funds budgeted for the Environmental Protection Department and Budget Amendment #01 for the 1988 budget year, which would transfer funds budgeted from Non-Departmental to the offices of Justice of Peace Precinct 7 Place 1 and Place 2, Justice of Peace Precinct 5 and Justice of Peace Precinct 3; reallocate funds budgeted for the office of the District Attorney; and decrease the department budget of Constable Precinct 7. On motion by Commissioner Beard, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court voted unanimously to approve both of the budget amendments as submitted, copies are attached hereto. The Court next considered an Order appointing James A. Amis, Jr. to sit as Special Judge in County Court at Law II from February 10, 1988 through February 12, 1988, May 11, 1988 through May 13, r i a a • 1 a. ~ r u~ I Commissioners' Court minutes January 19, 1988 1988, and June 7, 1988 through June 10, 1988 to allow Judge Langely to attend Judicial Conferences in February and May, 1988 and the State Bar Convention in June 1988. On motion by Commis- i sioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Beard, the Court voted I unanimously to approve the Order naming James A. Amis, Jr. as j Special Judge for County Court at Law II for the dates of February • 10, 1988 through February 12, 1988, May 11, 1988 through May 13, 1988 and June 7, 1988 through June 10, 1988. A full copy of the i Order is attached to and made a part of these minutes. The Court next considered a Resolution approving the participation in the purchasing programs of the State Purchasing and General Services Commission and authorizing the Purchasing Agent to deliver all necessary requests and documents on behalf of Brazos County to said agency for the purchase of photo copy machines . On motion by the Commissioner Turner, seconded by Commissioner Beard, the Court voted unanimously to adopt the i I Resolution approving the participation and authorizing the Purchasing Agent to execute the necessary documents on behalf of i Brazos County for the purchase of photo copy machines; a copy of the Resolution is attached hereto. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner I Turner, the Court received, approved and ordered filed as submitted the Treasurer's report for December 1987 and the Fourth Quarter report for 1987. The Court next considered awarding the following bids Bid No. 88-407 - Maintenance of Voting Machines 1. Hourly labor rate for reconditioning voting machines 2. Submit on extra page a price list for parts for the Data Media Model and the VIP/Howard (Include cleaning cost). 3. Maintenance Contract for 100 Data Media Model 3 (price per unit per month) 4. Maintenance Contract for 350 VIP/Howard (price per unit per month) TEXAS VOTING SYSTEMS 1. $20.00 per hour 3. $ 1.25 per unit per month 4. $ 1.25 per unit per month ~I % VO L P I r Commissioners' Court minutes January 19, 1988 Rebecca Shults, Purchasing Agent, recommended acceptance of the bid submitted by Texas Voting Systems, Inc., noting it to be the only bid received. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court voted unanimously to accept the recommendation of the Purchasing Agent and award the contract to the only bidder, Texas Voting Systems. i i 1 I 1 On motion by Commissioner Beard, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court voted unanimously to waive the motor vehicle identification requirements for the District Attorney's Office, as stated in Vernon's Civil Statutes 6701m-2. Further, the Commissioners Court requests that the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation issue regular plates upon proper application.
