1. Consideration of award of the following bids and authorize
the payment thereof:
(a) Meat contract for December 1987 and January 1988
for jail.
(b) Groceries and staples for December 1987 and Janu-
ary 1988 for jail.
2. Discuss and take action to pass an order retaining the tax-
ing authority over certain personal properties.
3. Payment of claims.
4. Other Business 4- Discussion Only - No Action To Be Taken.

A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos
County, Texas was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the
Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10&00
a.m. on Monday, November 30, 1987, with the following members of
the Court presents
R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, Presiding;
Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Billy E. Beard, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Frank Boriskie, County Clerk.

The first matter for consideration by the Court was the
awarding of the following bids:
Bid No. 87-331 - Meat contract for December 1987 and January
1988 for the jail.

Rebecca Shults, Purchasing Agent, recommended
acceptance of the low bids submitted by
Frostex and Readfield. On motion by
Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner
Turner, the Court voted unanimously to follow
the recommendation of the purchasing agent
and award the contract jointly to Frostex and
to Readfield.
Bid No. 87-338 - Groceries and Staples for December 1987 and
January 1988 for the jail.
The bidders for the groceries and staples
were Sysco Foods and White Swan. Rebecca
Shults, Purchasing Agent, recommended
acceptance of the bid submitted by Sysco
Foods. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox,
seconded by Commissioner Beard, the Court
voted unanimously to follow the recommen-
dation of the purchasing agent and award the
contract to Sysco Foods. A copy of the bid
tabulation is attached hereto for comparison.
The Court tabled until a later date any discussion of
retaining the taxing authority over certain personal properties.
The Court next considered the following Claims as submitted

On motion by Commissioner Beard, seconded by Commissioner Turner,
the Court voted unanimously to approve the Claims as submitted.

Commissioners' Court meeting November 23, 1987
The County Judge announced that Brazos County Employees had
donated $740.00 to The Red Cross for the victims of the Burleson
County tornado disaster.
There being no further business to come before the Court, the
meeting was adjourned.
