J. Holmgreen, County Judge, Presiding; Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2, Billy E. Beard, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4, Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. Agent Cathy Bryan Engineer's Office Ronnie Crocker Bryan/College Station Eagle Chuck Clements WTAW Denise Fulfer KBTX-TV Kathy Young KBTX-TV The Court received, approved and ordered filed as submitted the following reports for August 19871 Jim Mazurkiewicz, County Extension Agent, Carolyn Nobles, County Extension Agent, Betsy Harkey, County, Extension Agent, Monty Dozier, Extension Agent, The Court received, considered and approved reports from County and Precinct Officers showing revenues collected and remitted to the County Treasurer. An excerpt from those reports is attached hereto. Mrs. Meatra Harrison, District Extension Director of the Texas Agricultural Extension Service, introduced Mrs. Carolyn VO pA l v ~W L J e i Commissioners' Court meeting September 8, 1987 " l~ 1 ,I VO Nobles to the Court as Brazos County's new Extension Agent in Home Economics. She replaces Mrs. Mable Walger who retired after twenty years of service with Brazos County. Judge Holmgreen welcomed Mrs. Nobles to Brazos County and stated the Court looked forward to working with her. The Court next considered approval of the minutes of the meetings of Commissioners' Court held June 22, 1987 and June 29 1987. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by the County Judge, the Court voted unanimously to approve the minutes as submitted. The Court, having received a petition signed by sufficien voters, proceeded to set the time, place and date for the Publi Hearing on the creation of a Rural Fire Prevention District. The hearing will be Wednesday, September 28, 1987 at 1s30 p.mo at the Brazos County Courthouse in the Commissioners' Courtrooe On motion by the County Judge, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court voted unanimously to appoint Felice Kline to the board of directors of the Mental Health Mental Rehabilita- tion Organization. Dr. Kline will fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Candace Leslie. The Court next considered Budget Amendment 617, which would reallocate funds budgeted for the Data Processing Department and Juvenile Services and increase the department budgets for the 272nd District Court and Fire Protection. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court voted unanimously to approve the budget amendment as submitted, a copy of which is attached hereto. The Court next considered changing the County Landfill fees. The County Judge stated he felt there should be no charge except for commercial waste until such time as a solution could be found for county-wide trash collection. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Beard, the Court voted unanimously to remove the charge for household rubbish and to charge a fee for commercial waste only. Next to be considered was Change Order 61 to the contract with Butler-Howard for the Hopes Creek Bridge Project in the amount of $1,500. The change would provide for the construction of an emergency detour around the construction site. Butler- Howard will provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to relocate temporary fences and replace right-of-way fences, when the project is completed. On motion by Commis- sioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court voted unanimously to approve the change order.
