Other Business Closed Executive Session to discu, h K I~ t' COMMISSIONERS' COURT SPECIAL MEETING MAY 4, 1987 i 1I A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos lCounty, Texas, was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the !Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:00 I A.M. on Monday, may 4, 1987, with the following members of the H Court present: ;I R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, Presiding; i~ Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1; j~ Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Billy E. Beard, Commissioner of Precinct 3; ji Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4; I~ Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. ~i The following citizens and officials were in attendance: i Ruth McLeod Administrative Assistant ' Carol Snedeker County Judge's Admin. Sal Rios KBTX-TV The first matter to be considered by the Court was a. ~I billing from Jack Cumpton and Associates in the amount of i I $33,616.12 for final payment for Architectural Services in conjuction with the Courthouse construction. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Beard, the Court I voted unanimously to approve the statement and make final ll payment to Jack Cumpton and Associates. IIj The Court next considered lowering the speed limits on 11 Graham, Barron and North Barron roads to 40 miles per hour in Precinct 1. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox the Court voted unanimously to lower the speed limit on the above named roads. VOL-7~4 PAGE. Court Terminate Maynard, Lynda Extension Service Step Increase Barr, Ben Dist. Attorney Step Increase Gharis, Cheryl Sheriff's Office Step Increase Harkey, Betsy Extension Serv. Car Allowance Dozier, Monty Extension Serv. Car Allowance i On motion by Commissioner Cooley seconded by Commissioner Beard the Court voted unanimously to approve the changes as submitted. The Court next considered the following Claims as Isubmitted by the County Treasurer for payment: 10 General Fund-------------------Claims 78832 thru 78986 20 Road & Bridge------------------Claims 79067 thru 73-273 21 Booneville Cemetary------------ Claims 78987 thru 30 Capital Projects & Improvements: Proposition I-----------Claims 78788 thru 78793 40 Law Library--------------------Claims 78984 thru- 42 Revenue Sharing----------------Claims 79002 thru 54 Health Department--------------Claims 793 thru 79075 70 Indigent Health Care-----------Claims 790 6 thru 79066 I.On Line Checks - 30138 On motion by Commissioner Turner, seconded by Commissioner Beard, the Court voted unanimously to approve the Claims as !submitted. The County Judge laid before the Court the Brazos County Emergency Evacuation Plan drafted by Jake Canglose, Brazos 1County and Interjurisdictional Emergency Coordinator and the !Brazos County Loss Control (Safety) Committee. The County Judge 1 commended the plan and asked that every department head be given a copy and that each and every employee in the Courthouse read it and initial it. On motion by Commissioner Beard, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court voted unanimously to adopt the plan. At 10:25 a.m. the County Judge announced the meeting closed to the public for the purpose of discussing the purchase of real estate. At 11:25 a.m. the meeting was re-opened to the public and the County Judge announced there was no action to be taken as a result of the closed session.
