J. Holmgreen, County Judge, Presiding; Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Billy E. Beard, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. Cooper Brazosland Realty Rostell Chapman Brazosland Realty Bill Chambers Representing Mickey Chambers The first item to be discussed was to canvass the results of the Municipal election of Wixon Valley held Saturday, April 4,1987. The County Judge read aloud the results as l electronically tabulated at Central Counting: MAYOR 3 -.3 Commissioners' Court meeting April 6, 1987 Ann Barnes Kenney 39 votes Joseph W. Krolczyk 40 votes Virginia Hightower 43 votes Charles Tanner 62 votes City Marshall Write-in votes for City Marshall winners: Mayor Don Ballard Alderman Dennis C. Sikorski, Jim S. Bluntzer, Clayborne McGee, Virginia Hightower, Charles Turner. City Marshall Dennis Fraybey Commissioner Beard moved to approve the results and ordered them entered into the Official Election Records in the County Clerk's office. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Wilcox and carried unanimously. Dennis Fraybey 12 votes Mark Ballard 1 vote Dennis Finney 1 vote The County Judge announced the following persons to be the The next matter to be considered was approval of the minutes of the Commissioners' Court meetings held March 9, 1987 and March 18, 1987. Commissioner Beard inquired if the clerical ferror made on the minutes of March 9, 1987 had been corrected. After being assured that the correction had been made, he stated that he had no objection to the minutes being considered. c Commissioner Cooley moved for the approval of the minutes of the i meetings held March 9 and 18, 1987. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Turner, with Commissioners Cooley, Turner, and Wilcox voting "Aye". Commissioner Beard did not vote. I Next to be discussed was Budget Amendment #06 for various if departments. The amendment increased several department budgets ;I to compensate for the additional cost of professional insurances increase to the 272nd District Court for salary of Court Reporter which was erroneously omitted from the budget at budget time; transfer of fund in Juvenile Services budget to accomodate the transfer of Juvenile Board expenses to salary. The total increase to the General fund budget being $33,997. Commissioner I V 0 L I C c I I • • E Commissioners' Court meeting April 6, 1987 Turner moved to approve the budget amendment. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, with Commissioners Turner, Wilcox and Cooley voting "Aye". Commissioner Beard abstained. A full copy of the amendment is attached hereto. The Court next considered the resubdivision Plat of Fawn Lake Estates in Precinct 2. The Court recognized Bill Chambers speaking on behalf of his son, Mickey Chambers, who had purchased a tract in the subdivision with the understanding that the plat would not be altered. He continued by say that any changes that would make the tracts smaller would devalue the property. Commissioner Wilcox indicated he could not act on the plat as submitted and moved to deny the plat submitted based on Article IV - Section C.25 - Subdivision Requirements which states in part: "No vacating Plat or resubdivision within an existing subdivision shall be submitted without the joiner or separate written consent of all current property owners within the subdivision, except where re-subdivision is authorized by existing restrictions affecting the entire subdivision." The motion was seconded by Commissioner Cooley and carried i unanimously. Court Terminate i Commissioner Beard voiced his opposition to adding the monthly compensation of the Juvenile Board Members to their salaries. Under other business the County Judge asked the Court to clarify the day to be observed for San Jacinto Day, if the Court 'I wanted to change the day to Monday or leave it on Tuesday, April 21st. On motion by Commissioner Turner, seconded by j Commissioner Cooley, the Court voted unanimously to change the holiday to Monday, April 20th. i I If~ The County Judge advised the Court that he had been !j contacted by the First Baptist Church regarding the Church's ~I proposed parking lot on 27th Street just behind the County parking lot. He asked the Court if it would be possible for the ~I County to clear the area for the Church if the county was allowed joint use of the area for parking. It was the consensus IJ I of the Court to authorize the County Engineer to investigate the II project and report back to the Court. ~j There being no further business to come before the Court, I~ II the meeting was adjourned.
