J. Holmgreen, County Judge - Absent Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1 - Absent Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2 - presiding Billy E. Beard, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4. Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. The following citizens and officials were in attendance: Chuck R. Clements WTAW/KTAW Carol Snedeker County Judge's Secretary Kerly Sekera League of Women Voters Judy DeSicpio KTAM/KORA Ruth McLeod Admin. Asst. Commissioner Wilcox opened the meeting and read aloud the "ORDER RELOCATING CERTAIN POLLING PLACES" in its entirety. Com- missioner Turner asked the distance between the present location and the proposed location for the polling place of voting precinct 35. The Court was advised that the distance was two city blocks, whereupon Commissioner Beard moved for the adoption of the Order. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Turner and carried unani- mously. A copy of the Order is attached to and made a part of these minutes. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned. Y i, L } , } q /Z- ~ la~ mgreen County Judge aoaP2 I Walter Vilcox Commissioner, Precinct 2 Bill J oo ey Commissioner, Pr cinct 1- Billy ear Commis oner, Precinct 3 ti Milton Turner Fran Bori e Commissioner, Precinct 4 County Clerk I 1 11 , t { o , I I 1 i I V® PAG E 3 THE STATE OF TEXAS X COUNTY OF BRAZOS X ORDER RELOCATING CERTAIN POLLING PLACES WHERAS, there exists at the present time two (2) certain polling places which have become an inconvenience to the voter; and WHEREAS, the polling place for voting precinct 19 is located in !i Bonham Elementary School; and WHEREAS, the daily attendance at the school has increased in number which has prompted the school to occupy the space in which elections are conducted; and WHEREAS, there is no space in which to conduct an election without causing overcrowded- conditions for the',students and voters; and WHEREAS, the Commissioners Court is desirous of permanently re- locating the polling place of voting precinct 19 approximately one and a half blocks away, in a building owned by Brazos County known as the "Arena Hall"; and WHEREAS, the polling place for voting precinct 35 is located in the College Station Municipal Building on Church Avenue North; and WHEREAS, the Commissioners Court has been notified that the building is in bad repair at this time, which could cause a serious inconvenience if an election were conducted in the building in bad weather before the building is repaired; and WHEREAS, the Commissioners Court is desirous of relocating the polling place of voting precinct 35 temporarily in the A & M Presbyterian Church, 301 Church Avenue North, College Station, Texas; 1 F i i i i 1- r i 1 i , Now therefore BE IT ORDERED ADJUDGED AND DECREED BY THE COMMISSIONERS COURT OF BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS, that the polling place for voting precinct t l~ 19 be and is, permanently located in the Arena Hall on Tabor Road h ~p l v OL 'j PAS :;7 / L -~--+r~+ear•I-^~i-tv. $T Ci^,. r - v ..+w.. -j 1' _ _ _ f :.3 ~.a vJ~-. i-_~ I air. 1 r ~ ~ 1 I S { ~ I I .,t I I and that the polling place for voting precinct 35 be temporarily relocated in the A & M Presbyterian Church, 301 Church Avenue North, i 1 t 9 i College Station, Texas, effective this 3rd day of February, 1986.
