J. Holmgreen, County Judge, presiding: Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Billy E. Beard, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. The first matter to come before the Court was approval of 1 ' I ,t the Minutes of Commissioner Court meetings held August 5, 1985, August 12, 1985, August 26, 1985, September 9, 1985, September 18, 1985, September 23, 1985, September 24, 1985 and October 4, 1985. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Turner, the Court voted unanimously to approve the Minutes as submitted. Mr. Don Anning who requested permission to address the Court was not present to address the Court. Evans. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court voted unanimously to appoint Deborah Brock and I Dr. Rand B. Evans for a term ending December 31, 1986. i i On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Beard the Court voted unanimously to approve the statement of Jack Cumpton, Architect in the amount of $1,472.03 for services i in connection with the additions and modifications to the Court- house. The Court next considered the following bids and the payment thereof: 1. Bid No. 254 - Single module, uninterruptible power supply for Data Processing. (a) Exide Electronics bid model 2715 for a total cost of i $27,087.00 with one year warranty. M. J. Deen, Data Processing Manager advised the Court that r she had investigated the bid and found it to be sound, whereupon II Commissioner Beard moved to accept the bid from Exide Electronics, d noting it to be the only bid received. The motion was seconded J by Commissioner Turner and carried unanimously. 2. Bid No. 253 - Annual Contract for aggregate for surface treatments for Road and Bridge Department. On the re- commendation of the County Engineer, it was the consen- sus of the Court to delay action on the bids until a later date. a The Court proceeded to consider amendments to the 1985 Budget for various departments. On motion by Commissioner Turner, se- / conded by Commissioner Beard the Court voted unanimously to approve ~ the amendments as submitted. Under other business the County Judge acknowledged a letter from Tom Sistrunk announcing his retirement from the County Ex- tension Service as of January 31, 1986. He also announced the resignation of Bill Elkins as County Treasurer effective January 1, 1986. Commissioner Cooley next asked if the Court would consider a Resolution showing Evidence of Financial Responsibility, re- garding the operation of the County Landfill at Millican. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Beard, the Court voted unanimously to adopt the Resolution. A full copy is attached to and made a part of these minutes. The Court proceeded to approve a statement from Brazos Coun- ty to Utley James of Texas, Inc. in the amount of $37,524.00 for utility use. Commissioner Beard moved to approve the amount and submission of the statement for payment. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Turner and carried unanimously. J HOLMGREEN 4 County Judge RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSIONERS' COURT OF BRA20S COUNTY, TEXAS REGULAR MEETING 11-25-85. EVIDENCE OF FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY I BE IT RESOLVED that the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County certifies I that the county has sufficent assets to properly operate the Solid Waste Site at Millican and to provide proper closure of the site. Be IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the county will provide backup equipment from other Sources if that becomes necessary.
