SEPTEMBER 24, 1985
The Commissioners Court of Brazos County met in closed
executive session on Tuesday, September 29, 1985, in the
Commissioners Courtroom of the Brazos County Courthouse,
Bryan, Texas to discuss the purchase of real estate. The
following members of the Court present were:
R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, presiding:
Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Billy E. Beard, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4.
Other persons present were:
Christopher Mathewson - Landfill Consultant
Patricia Meronoff - Attorney at Law
John Godfrey - Jail Administrator
The County Judge announced the meeting closed to the public
and asked all unauthorized persons present to wait outside until
the meeting was opened to the public.
The meeting was opened to the public at 11:10 A.M. at which
time the Court considered the purchase of 140.47 acres of land
from A. A. Hodde for the expansion of the County Landfill at
Millican. On motion by Commissioner Beard, seconded by commissio-
ner Cooley, the Court voted unanimously to exercise the option
to purchase the 140.47 acres of land from A. A. Hodde and to pay
$5,000 to Brazos County Abstract to solidify the purchase.

The Court proceeded to set the time the landfill will be
open to the public after final approval by the State. Commissio-
ner Cooley moved that the following days and times be set for
operation of the landfill:
Saturday 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.
Sunday 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
Monday 9:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.
Tuesday Closed i
Wednesday 9:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.
Thursday 9:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.
Friday Closed
The motion was seconded by Commissioner Beard and carried unani-
mously.

The Court next considered a request from the Sheriff's'De-
partment for authorization to purchase flame retardant carpet i
for the dispatch room, and two administrative offices in the new
jail. Such carpet to be purchased from Bagdad Carpet, Houston,
Texas, for $12.50 per yard installed, or a total cost of $916.33.
On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Turner,
the Court voted unanimously to authorize the installation of the
carpet.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.
