Other Business I I I I I I I I f t I • I { ' I f I 1 VO PAGE- COMMISSIONERS' COURT SPECIAL MEETING AUGUST 26, 1985 i A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:00 ri A.M. on Monday, August 26, 1985, with the following members of the Court present: R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, presiding: Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Billy E. Clements WTAW/KTAW Jim Kuboviak County Attorney Carol Snedeker County Judge's Secretary r° The Commissioners Court was shown a slide presentation on the proposed improvements to the Easterwood Airport. The pre- sentation was given by Harry Raisor, Director of Aviation at Easterwood, and Jim Ferguson, Assistant Vice President of Opera- tions at Texas A&M. The Court was asked to pledge $100,000.00 annually for an indefinite period of time, to be used for Capitol Improvements. The improvements are scheduled over a 20 year pe- riod. After viewing the slides and hearing the presentation it was the consensus of the Court to take no action on the request atl this time. The Court next considered amendments to the 1985 budget for various departments. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded V0L1~_PAG Ga' } Ag S attached. i J i by Commissioner Beard, the Court voted unanimously to approve ri the amendments as submitted. A copy of the amendments are 4 i ~~1 , 1 Y { The County Judge laid before the Court a certified copy of the District Court for the appointment of Linda Stoddard as Assistant County Auditor, whose salary shall be set at $14,036,00. On motion by Commissioner Turner, seconded by the County Judge, the Court unanimously acknowledged the order and ordered it re- corded as part of these minutes; a full copy of which is attached. Under other business Jim Kuboviak, County Attorney, informed the Court of a 1977 Hughes Helicopter that was available to Brazos County at no cost to Brazos County. The helicopter is presently owned by the City of Pasadena who no longer has a need for the to accept the helicopter. The motion was seconded by Commissioner machine and is making it available to law enforcement agencies on a priority basis. Brazos County is number one on the list to re- ceive the helicopter. After discussion, Commissioner Beard moved Turner and carried unanimously. The group voiced ci on Elmo Weedon Road along a presentation by Scott Martin, Skip citizens and residents on Elmo Weedon Dncern about the condition of the bridge with the entire road and Grass'bur Road. They inquired about the possibility of black topping Elmo Weedon Road. The group was advised that 150 plus vehicles per day need- ed to travel the road in order to blacktop the road. They were also advised that work orders would be submitted for repairs to Grassbur Road and Elmo Weedon Road. No other action was taken in regard to the hard surfacing of Elmo Weedon Road. Stoddard, Assistant County Auditor, and the Court hereby sets her compensation for her services at an annual salary from the County General Fund in the sum of Fourteen Thousand and Thirty-Six ($14,036.00) Dollars, said salary to be paid monthly in equal installments to said Assistant County Auditor. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that this Order shall be recorded in the Minutes of the District Court, and that the Clerk of the District Court shall certify the same for observance to the Commissioners' Court, which shall cause same to be recorded in its Minutes.
