Dr. Christopher Mathewson, the County Consultant on the
landfill gave an overview of the proposed expansion, whereupon
the County Judge asked for comments from the public.
Jimmy Wilson, Sr, owner of the adjoining property stated
that he was told when he purchased the property that the present
landfill would be closed when full and that there would be no
more landfill there. He stated that he had no objection to the
expansion if it is run in the same manner as the present one.
Tommy Lyons also an adjacent property owner stated that he
did not want a dump next to his property and requested the County
look into putting a deed restriction on the property next to his

that is to be used as a buffer around the landfill so it can
never be used as a landfill. He requested that the trash along
the road be better controlled, but had no objection to the land-
fill if the other property owners did not.
Gary Griffin owner of an adjacent 12 acre tract asked if
anenvironmental study had been made and filed with the EPA. He
also asked why this site was selected verses another site in the
County.
Bill Flemming an adjacent land owner asked if the Court plann-
ed to adopt the site plan as presented and urged that considera-
tion be given to improving the road.
Jack Boyett stated that he had visited with a number of citi-
zens and they feel a landfill is needed for the citizens of Milli-
can and the southern part of the County, but that other sites
should be established for the citizens in other parts of the County.
Glen Muskgrove representing the Millican Volunteer Fire Depart-
ment requested the County purchase two air packs for the Fire Depart-
ment for use in fighting fires at the landfill and other fires.
After hearing all comments from the public the County Judge
thanked all citizens for their input and closed the public hearing.
