One patrol car and one investigators car for Sheriff's Department, to be purchased with 1984 funds. Bidder Patrol Car Investigator Car a. Bossier Chrysler Dodge $11,102.37 $11,269. 7 b. Tom Light Chevrolet 11,216.11 11,260.6 c. Beal Ford 10,801.15 i 10,769.69 The Sheriff recommended the purchase of the Chevrolets due to other vehicles not meeting specifications and because of maintenance and performance of the Chevrolet. After discussion and on motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Turner the Court voted unanimously to award the bid to Tom Light Chevrolet and authorized the Sheriff to order the vehicles. 2. Video Recording System for the Sheriff's Department a. Video Systems, Inc. $ 9,684.66 The Sheriff recommended the equipment be purchased from Video Sys- tems, Inc., but requested the Court authorize the purchase of a color camera as it would be equipped with chips instead of tubes The cost of the color camera would increase the cost by $512.00 After discussion, Commissioner Wilcox moved to purchase the equip- ment with the color camera for a total cost of $10,316.86, and that the equipment be purchased with Revenue Sharing Funds and to amend ,the Budget where necessary. The motion was seconded by Commissioner ,Turner and carried unanimously. 3. Roller Shelves for County Clerk's Office a. Walraven Brothers, Inc. - $59,493.00 b. Stafford-Lowden - 57,114.94 c. News Office Supply Company - 50,997.70 d. Engineering and Office Supply - No Bid On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox the Court voted unanimously to accept the low bid of News Office Supply with monies to be paid out of the Capital Projects Account. The Court next considered the following Plats: 1. Preliminary Plat of Wixon Meadows in Precinct 2. After review and on motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court voted unanimously to approve the Preliminary Plat as a„~,~,i trout yOLIPAUEAM . The Court next considered_a request from the Tax Assessor/ Collector for authorization to work all tax clerks overtime in order to handle tax payments in a timely manner After discussion t d on motion by the County Judge, seconded by Commissioner Turner Ie Court voted unanimously to authorize overtime for these em- ployees through 1983. 2 00 P M. ~I 'I , The Court reconvened at 200 P.M with the following per- sons present, and proceeded to hold a Public Hearing on the 1984 Budget for Brazos County. Commissioner Wilcox asked that the monies budgeted for "Court ' Cost" in the Court Administration budget be broken down to reflect court costs for each court w 1 I The County Auditor requested the "Retirement" portion of his e budget be increased by $1,800 00 to correct a clerical errorf The Tax Assessor Collector requested budget for Ifficejsup- plies be increased to $7,000 00, conference and memberships be increased to $4,000 00, voter registration list be increased to $2,000 00, equipment-rent/base be increased to $1,100 00 The Sheriff requested that the budget for deputies be in-, I creased by $2,000 00 After much discussion Commissioner Cooley moved approval of I ~ the Budget for the General Fund, with above changes being noted Motion died for lack of a second Commissioner Turner moved to instruct the Personnel Director to evaluate the duties of the Chief Deputy of the County Clerk's office to like positions with other entities and departments, and report back to the Court within the next 4 months The motion was tl VOL,LPAGE~ t { r a seconded by Commissioner Cooley and carried unanimously. Commissioner Cooley moved to approve the Budget for the General Fund with the exception of the request for salary increase for the Chief Deputy in the County Clerk's Office and bookkeeper in the Tax Office. The motion was seconded by the County Judge with the County Judge and Commissioner Cooley voting "Aye." Com- missioners Wilcox and Turner voted "No" whereupon the County Judge announced the motion failed. Commissioner Wilcox requested that an evaluation study be made of the landfill operation to determine the need and at what cost figure and if a permit system is necessary. Commissioner Wilcox moved to approve the budget for the Gen- eral Fund conditioned on the salary evaluation by the Personnel I Director and'~the study on the landfill within the next 6 months. The motion wag seconded by Commissioner Turner and carried unani- mously. Commissioner Wilcox moved to approve the entire 1984 Budget. I understand and agree that: • 1. The Commissioner of the Precinct in which the right-of-way lies must be notified prior to the beginning of construction in order that the Commissioner might be on hand to designate the actual location of the installation. 2. That all damage to the roadways and rights-of-way will be repaired to their original condition to the satisfaction of the Commissioner in which the roadway or right-of-way lies. , 3.
