REGULAR MEETING
JULY 11, 1983
A regular meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos
County, Texas, was held in the Lecture Rehearsal Room of the
Brazos Center, 3232 Briarcrest Drive, Bryan, Brazos County,
Texas, beginning at 10 00 A M on Monday, July 11, 1983, with
the following members of the Court present

The first matter to come before the Court was the approval
of the Minutes of the Commissioners' Court Meeting held June 13,
1983 On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner
Beard the minutes were approved without change
The Court next considered the appointment of three members
to the Board of Directors of the Mental Health Mental Retardation
On motion by the County Judge, seconded by Commissioner Beard the
Court voted unanimously to re-appoint R J Holmgreen, County
Judge, Mrs Robert Leslie and Mrs Neville Clarke to the Board for
a 2 year term
The Court proceeded to consider the Preliminary Plat of Fox
I' Fire Phase IV in Precinct 1 After careful review of the Plat

and on motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner
i Beard, the Court voted unanimously to approve the Plat subject to
the addition of a 25' set back line at the intersections of Hunt-
ington Drive and Haywood, Huntington Drive and Haley, Huntington
i Drive and Freneau

Next to be considered were the following Amendments to the

1983 Budget
1 District Attorney's Office reallocation of funds
On motion by Commissioner Beard, seconded by Comm-
issioner Turner, the Court voted unanimously to
approve the amendment
2 Commissioners Court addition of M P 0 Staff
member to work under the supervision of D D
Williamson, and to do work for members of the M P 0
All funds to be reimbursed to Brazos County by the
Unified Work Program of the M P 0 On motion by
Commissioner Beard, seconded by Commissioner Turner
the Court voted unanimously to approve the amendment

+ 3 County Clerk funding for 1 additional Deputy On
motion by the County Judge, seconded by Commissioner
` Turner, the Court voted unanimously to approve the
amendment
4. Revenue Sharing funding of $100,000 to be trans-
ferred to Road and Bridge Fund, representing funds
' allocated in 1982 but never transferred On motion
by Commissioner Beard, seconded by Commissioner
Cooley, the Court voted unanimously to approve the
amendment

Operator On motion by the County Judge, seconded
by Commissioner Turner, the Court voted unanimously
to approve the amendment
A copy of all budget amendments are attached hereto
Next to be considered were proposals of telephone consulting
received from
W L Stein Company
Brady, Taylor and Associates
Cofran & Associates, Inc
After discussion Commissioner Beard moved to award the contract
to W L Stein Company of San Antonio, with further negotiations
regarding the contract The motion was seconded by Commissioner
Cooley and carried unanimously
The Court next considered the Change of Status for the follow-

On motion by Commissioner Beard seconded by Commissioner Turner
the Court voted unanimously to approve the Claims as submitted
Under other business the County Judge reminded the Court
again that the time to change any necessary polling places was
at hand
The Court considered the statement of Utley James of Texas,
Inc in the amount of $593,321 00 for work completed on Modifi-
cations and Additions to the Brazos County Courthouse On motion
by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Beard, the Court
voted unanimously to approve the invoice and authorized the pay-
ment
Commissioner Wilcox next presented a pre-preliminary plat
of Still Creek West Mobil Home Subdivision in Precinct 4 and the
Bryan Extra Territorial Jurisdiction, which Commissioner Turner
requested be tabled until a later meeting
Commissioner Beard reported on the progress of the recommend-
ed changes in the Subdivision Regulations and stated that the
suggested changes would be furnished to the Court by Wednesday the
13th for their review
The Court retired into closed executive session at 10 40 A M
to discuss legal matters
The meeting was re-opened to the public at 11 40 A M No
action was to be taken at this time and the meeting was adjourned
