Home My WebLink About1983-06-24-1000AM-Special, COMMISSIONERS' COURT it SPECIAL MEETING JUNE 24, 1983 A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held in the Lecture Rehearsal Brazos Center, 3232 Briarcrest Drive, Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10 00 A M on Monday, June 24, 1983, with the following members of the Court present R J Holmgreen, County Judge, presiding Bill J Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1, Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2, Billy E Beard, Commissioner of Precinct 3, Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4, nary Ann Ward, Deputy County Clerk The following citizens and officials were in attendance Carol Snedeker County Judge's Secretary Kathy Grozenski Brady, Taylor & Associates Van Kinerd County Auditor Jann Snell The Eagle Mark Smith KBTX-TV Donald Garrett Garrett Engineering Bud Teague Garrett Engineering Ross Nethery KAGC Darren Robbins KBTX-TV The first matter to come before the Court was the appoint- ment of a member to the Board of Directors of the Brazos Valley Development Council On recommendation and motion by the County Judge, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court voted unanimously to appoint Marvin Tate, City of Bryan Councilman to the Board The Court proceeded to consider the appointment of two mem- bers to the Board of Directors of the Mental Health Mental Retarda- tion On recommendation and motion by the County Judge, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox the Court voted unanimously to reappoint Mrs Neville Clarke and Mrs Robert Leslie to the Board Next to be considered was an application to the Federal Re- serve Bank of Dallas for the holding of securities in joint safe- keeping, presented by the First City National Bank On motion by the County Judge, seconded by Commissioner Beard the Court voted unanimously to approve the application VOL~PAGE~ y ` i v , The Court next considered the following amendments to the 1983 Budget 1 County Court At Law 2 Non Departmental 3 Revenue Sharing 4 Health Department On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Beard the Court voted unanimously to approve the amendments Copies of such amendments are attached hereto The County Judge read a letter from the Department of High- ways and Public Transportation advising the Court of 2 sections of fence along FM2818 that need to be relocated After discussion, it was the consensus of the Court to advertise for bids for the materials and labor for the work Next to be considered was the Replat of Lots 21 and 22 in Block 2 of Harvey Hillsides in Precinct 3, and the extra terri- torial jurisdiction of the City of College Station After re- viewing the changes Commissioner Beard moved to approve the Plat subject to its compliance with the County Subdivision Regulations regarding the approval of all property owners in the Subdivision The motion was seconded by Commissioner Wilcox and carried unani- mously The Court next considered the Change of Status for the follow- ing employees Nickles C Abbott Derald L Matejka Willie Foster Willie J Foster Larry D Rodriquez Melvin D Johnson Paul Clark Gilbert Kenneth R Camp Christine M Kunert Debby Kees David E Baker Mark A Huber Larry D Rodriguez Paul G Davis Road & Bridge, Pct 2 Road & Bridge, Pct 2 Road & Bridge, Pct 1 Road & Bridge, Pct 1 Road & Bridge, Pct 1 Road & Bridge, Pct 1 Sheriff's Department Sheriff's Department Health Department Health Department Road & Bridge, Pct 1 Road & Bridge, Pct 1 Road & Bridge, Pct 1 Sheriff's Department On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court voted unanimously to approve the Change of Status as submitted VOLZ PAGE-IM"'O ~ 1 rl { i f; i. , The Court next considered the following Claims as submitted by the County Treasurer for payment General Fund Claims 5077 thru 5401 Law Library Claims 5404 ' Community Resources Officer Claims 5423 Juvenile Commission Grant Claims 5424 thru 5426 Health Department Claims 5413 thru 5422 Capital Projects & Improvement Fund Prop I Claims 5402 thru 5403 County Attorney Check Collection Claims 5409 thru 5412 Road and Bridge - Shop Claims 5427 thru 5449 Road and Bridge - Pct 1 Claims 5450 thru 5502 Road and Bridge - Pct 2 Claims 5503 thru 5545 Road and Bridge - Pct 3 Claims 5546 thru 5597 Road and Bridge - Pct 4 Claims 5593 thru 5626 On motion by Commissioner Cooley seconded by Commissioner Turner the Court voted unanimously to approve the Claims as submitted There being no further business the Court adjourned 11 r i V0LV--PAGEJ--J-3 . f i ~ l The foregoing minutes have been examined and approved in open Court this the day of v 199.?-. in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas ' v 0 0 ` o mgreen County Judge a ter Ift'l cox Commissioner, Precinct 2 ton Turner Commissioner, Precinct 4 a I a Bill- ey Commies r, Precinct b i 0, 0 i e !
