HomeMy WebLinkAbout1983-02-14-0900AM-Public-Hearind i COMMISSIONERS COURT j f PUBLIC HEARING r t~ FEBRUARY 14 1983 The Commissioners Court met at 9 00 A M on Monday February 14 1983 in the Lecture Rehearsal Room of the Brazos Center 3232 Briarcrest Drive Bryan Brazos County Texas for the purpose of holding a Public Hearing on Amend ments to the Subdivision Regulations with the following mem bers of the Court present R J Holmgreen County Judge presiding Bill J Cooley Commissioner of Precinct 1 Walter Wilcox Commissioner of Precinct 2 Billy E Beard Commissioner of Precinct 3 The following citizens and officials were in attendance Carol Snedeker Secretary County Judge Bill Dryden Spencer J Buchanan & Associates Phyllis Hobson Home Finder Realty Inc Jann Snell The Eagle Marlene Muse League of Women Voters B J Kling Kling Engineering Bob Reese Classic Inc Jerry Windham Developer Frank Thurmon Brazos Co Planners & Developers Assn C J Porterfield Developer Norman Godwin Developer 5 John Heyde Southwood Valley Inc Hank McQuaide Brazosland Realty Bill Carll Citizen Diane Macfarland Intern County Judge s Office Jim Allen Citizen J Carroll Enloe Enloe Construction B V Elkins County Treasurer Don Garrett Garrett Engineering Homer Adams Homer Adams Realty Mayge Henry First National Bank The hearing was opened and interested citizens were advised I I t a If that the proposed amendments were 1 Increase the lot size to a minimum of 2 acres 2 Require a minimum of 300 foot road frontage 1 3 No maintenance of right of way behind the curb and of a paved sections t 4 A minimum of 100 foot right of way if utilities installed s in road right of way I 5 Increase in amount of construction bond I Concerned citizens and developers expressed concern it the lot size was increased to 2 acres and the requirement of a 300 foot mini mum frontage to eliminate the cul de sacs in rural developments s k y 4 VOLq-PAGE r 3 1 r After considerable discussion it was the consensus of those pre sent that there should be another meeting and that Frank Thurmond President of the Brazos County Planners and Developers Association along with other developers would meet with the Court and assist in drawing up amendments that would be workable and beneficial to the county as well as developers It was further recommended that T action be taken on the raising of the amount of the construction bond The date for the next meeting would be announced at a later time No further discussion to be had the public hearing was closed ti 5 C` b !S ~ l t t ~ d t t~ i r R t ~ y of f C 1 vot4 PAGE 1 Z f r~ f r t t I I r i r
