HomeMy WebLinkAbout1982-09-27-0500PM-Specialt COMMISSIONERS' COURT I ' SPECIAL MEETING SEPTEMBER 27, 1982 A public hearing on the increase of the 1982 tax rate was 1 held in the Commissioners' Courtroom of the Brazos County Court- house on Monday, September 27, 1982, beginning at 5:00 P.M., as advertised in the Bryan Eagle, all in compliance with the law, with the following members of the Court present: R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, presiding: Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Billy Beard, Commissioner of Precinct 3; W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct-4; The following citizens and officials were present: Jann Snell The Eagle Donna Croft WTAW - KTAW John Leverette Candidate - County Treasurer Betty B. Miller Candidate - Commissioner, Pct.4 Greg Moses KTAM - KORA Buddy Winn, Tax'Assessor Collector Richard Moore KAGC Sally Takacs Intern - County Judge's Office Carol Snedeker County Judge's Secretary The County Judge opened the meeting and announced this to be the public hearing for the purpose of discussing the proposed tax rate of $0.27 for the 1982 tax year and stated this to be a 12k% increase above the rate published by the Tax Assessor Collec- t I tor. The County Judge asked for comments from the audience and receiving none announced the public hearing closed at 5:15 P.M. Commissioner Beard moved to increase the 1982 tax rate to $0.27 per $100.00 valuation and to set Monday, October 11, 1982, at 10:00 A.M. as the date and time to officially set the 1982 tax rate on all real property in Brazos County, Texas, all in accord- ance with law. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Stasny, • and carried unanimously.
