J. Holmgreen, County Judge, presiding: Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Billy E. Beard, Commissioner of Precihct 3; W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. Such term to begin immediately. On motion by Commissioner Beard, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court voted unanimously to appoint Charles G. Lohse, Deputy Constable of Precinct 4, noting that proper certification was presented. Such Deputy Constable to serve without pay. 3 • i The County Judge advised the Court that there would not be sufficient time to complete an Audit of the 1981 Revenue Sharing Funds and asked the Court for authorization to request the Office of Revenue Sharing to allow Brazos County to change the Audit year from 1981 to 1982. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, second- ed by Commissioner Beard the Court voted unanimously to authorize the County Judge to petition the Office of Revenue Sharing for a change in the Audit year. On motion by Commissioner Beard, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox the Court voted unanimously to authorize the County Audi- tor to advertise, offering the following tracts of land for lease for Oil and Gas purposes: 1. Original Townsite of Bryan (a) Block 7, Lots 1,2,3,4,5. (b) Block 9, Lots 6,7,8,9. (c) Block 25, Lots 6,7. (d) Block 26 (e) Block 27, Lots 1,2. (f) Block 28, Lots 1,2,3. 2. Zeno Phillips League (a) Block 9, Lot 7 Buddy Winn, Tax Assessor-Collector advised the Court that he had been approached by the City of Bryan, and Bryan Independent School District on the matter of collecting taxes for the two en- tities and presented the Court with copies of contracts from both entities for their consideration. After discussing the additional duties and cost, Commissioner Beard moved to authorize the County f Ft. lr .r Judge to enter into contracts with the City of Bryan and Bryan Independent School District for such services and requested the Tax Assessor-Collector to furnish the Court with the figures required to provide the service and the amount of reimbursment to the County by the two entities. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Wilcox and carried unanimously. Next to be considered was a request from the City-of College Station for authorization to install a 36 inch water transmission line within the right-of-way of Old Highway 6 in Precinct 1. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court voted unanimously to approve the application and-aut- horize the installation of the line. 9 Next to be considered by the Court was the purchase of a tractor for the Brazos Center. It was noted that bids had been received and opened and it was the recommendation of Phyllis Dozier, Director of the Brazos Center that the bid of Bryan Agri- Turf for a Yanmar 226 in the amount of $7,046.15 be accepted. On motion by Commissioner Beard, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court voted unanimously to accept the recommendation of Mrs.Dozier 7 and purchase the Yanmar 226 tractor in the amount of $7,046.15; to pay the invoice when received and to amend the Budget when necess- ary. The Court proceeded to consider bids received for the sale of four vehicles for the Sheriff's Department (2-1979 Dodge 4 door sedans and 2-1978 Ford 4 door sedans) as follows: 1. Isabel Dela Rosa i 600.00 total 2. Henry's Used Cars - 475.00 total 3. Frank Palermo - $400.00 total On recommendation of the Sheriff, it was the consensus of the Court that all bids should'be rejected and to authorize the Auditor to readvertise the vehicles for sale. Commissioner Cooley moved to approve the Preliminary Plat sub- ject to the addition of the set back line of the road inter- section. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Beard and carried unanimously, The Court proceeded to consider the Final Plat of COLE LANE EXTENSION in Precinct 3. After review of the Plat Commissioner I Beard moved to accept the Plat as submitted subject to the addi- tion of a temporary 100 foot turn around at the north east corner of the road. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Cooley and carried unanimously. The County Judge next brought up the topic of the Boonville Cemetery and advised the Court of requests received concerning the up keep and safeguarding of the cemetery. After discussion Commissioner Beard and Commissioner Wilcox were appointed to investigate the situation to see what could be done.
