HomeMy WebLinkAbout1982-05-24-1000AM-Special~i I I I I a f .1 COMMISSIONERS' COURT SPECIAL MEETING " MAY 24, 1982 A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:00 A. M. on Monday, May 24, 1982, with the following members of the Court present: R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, presiding Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Billy E. Beard, Commissioner of Precinct 3; W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4: Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. The following citizens and officials were in attendance: Tammy Pardi KAGC Bob Reese Classic, Inc. Betty Miller Candidate, Pct.4 County Commissioner Van Kinerd Auditor's Office Jann Snell The Eagle Buddy Winn Tax Assessor Collector Sheri Toumbs Treasurer's Office Joe Oliver KBTX - Channel 3 E. A. Wentrcek, Jr. Juvenile Probation Officer Antone Dobrovolny Candidate, Pct.4 County Commissioner Jeanne Norton KAMU Neoma Salamon KBTX - Channel 3 Hal Greer KBTX - Channel 3 The fitat matter to come before the Court was the considera- tion of the following bids: 1. Purchase of One 1/2 ton pick-up truck for Precinct 2. (a) Tom Light Chevrolet $9,304.36 (b) Beal Ford $8,875.00 After discussing the specifications.bid, Commissioner Wilcox moved to accept the bid of Beal Ford in the amount of $8,875.00, subject to the grill and bumper meeting the speci- fications and to authorize the,payment of the vehicle when received. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Beard and carried unanimously. 2. Purchase of from one to three 15 foot rotary mowers, (a) Brazos Machinery Company, Inc. - $9,337.07 each or $28,011.21 for 3. (b) Cent-Tex Tractor Company - $6,850.00 each or $20,550.00 for 3. I- 1 i R_ i I After review of the bid specifications and bids and on motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Beard the Court voted unanimously to reject all bids and to readvertise for more bids. ;t ;v The next matter to be considered were proposed installa- tions in County rights-of-way as follows: x 1. Ferguson Crossing Pipe Line Company requested authori- zation to install a natural gas pipeline within the right-of-way of Old Reliance Road in Precinct 3, and if County Shop Property. On motion by Commissioner Beard, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court voted unani- mously to approve the request and to authorize the in- stallation of the gas line in the right-of-way of Old Re- licence Road. 2. R. B. Butler, Inc. requested authorization to install a gas pipeline in the right-of-way of Clear Lake Road in Precinct 3. On motion by Commissioner Beard, seconded by r f Commissioner Cooley, the Court voted unanimously to approve the request and to authorize the installation, subject to the receipt of the $500.00 right-of-way crossing fee. I I j On motion by Commissioner Beard, seconded by Commissioner ' Wilcox the Court received and ordered recorded in the minutes, the certified copy of the Order of the District Court for the appointment of Thomas V. Kinard, County Auditor for a two year term ending April 15, 1984. A copy of such Order is attached to and made a part of these minutes. District Attorney's Office .On motion by Commissioner Beard, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court voted unanimously to approve the budget amendment, a copy of each are attached to and made a part of these minutes. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Cooley the Court voted unanimously to approve the following Change in Status of Employees: Barbara Knox Tax Office Jeanine Hamilton Tax Office Mary Lynn Garrett Tax Office Mary Ann Wolman Court Administrator's Office Linda Ricketson Juvenile Probation Cathy L. Schulte Health Department Jo Ann Johnson Justice of the Peace Rudolph Marquez Building & Yard The Court next considered the following claims as submitted by the County Treasurer for payment: General Fund 2312 through 2404 Crime Control 21 through 22 Revenue Sharing 22 Law Library 13 Road & Bridge Shop 113 through 122 Road & Bridge Precinct 1 99 through 104 Road & Bridge Precinct 2 114 through 123 Road & Bridge Precinct 3 125 through 132 Road & Bridge Precinct 4 98 through 107 On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Beard the Court voted unanimously to approve the claims as submitted. The Court next discussed identification markings on County owned vehicles and it was the consensus of the Court that all vehicles would be marked. Next to be considered was the Final Plat of WEST LOOP IN- - r f E t , i J DUSTRIAL PARK in Precinct 4 and the Bryan Extra territorial jur- isdiction. Brazos County Courthouse Bryan, Texas 77801 Ferguson Crossing Formal notice is hereby given that Pipe Line Company Applicant, proposes to place a two (2) Natural Gas Pipelines within the right-of-way of Old Reliance Road in Brazos County, Texas as followu : The location or description of the proposed installation is more fully shown by two (2) copies of the drawings attached to this notice.. I understand and agree that: 1. The Commissioner of the Precinct in which the right-of-way lies must be notified prior to the beginning of construction in order that the Commissioner might be on hand to designate the actual. location of the installation. 2. That all damage to the roadways and rights-of-way will be repaired to their original condition to the satisfaction of the-COVURissioner in which the roadway or right-of-way lies. 3. That BRAZOS COUNTY reserves the right to require Applicant to re- locate or lower any such line at no cost to BRAZOS COUNTY, should same become necessary due to (videning or lowering, or other alter- ation of the roadway or right-of-way. 4. That BRAZOS COUNTY is in no way responsible for any damage that might occur to any existing utility lines in the right-of-way. 5.
