COMMISSIONERS' COURT
SPECIAL MEETING
MARCH 15, 1982
A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos
County, Texas, was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the
Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:00
A.M. on Monday, March 15, 1982, with the following members of
the Court present:
R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, presiding:
Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Billy E. Beard, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Frank Boriskie, County Clerk
The following citizens and officials were in attendance:

The County Judge reported on the progress of the installa-
tion of the County's Computer System and advised the Court that
the Data Processing Department was ready to start adding certain
functions of the Tax Office to the system. He requested authori-
zation to order additional equipment to upgrade the system in the
Treasurer's Office, Auditor's Office, and add the Tax Office func-
tions, for a total increase to the Contract of $54,551.00 or total
Contract amount of $166,246.00. On motion by Commissioner Cooley,
seconded by Commissioner Beard the Court voted unanamiously to au-
thorize the purchase of the additional equipment.

Next to be considered was a request from Ernie Wentrcek, Chief 0
Juvenile Probation Officer to upgrade the position of Child Care
Worker to Juvenile Probation Officer increasing the salary budget
in that Department by $2,152.00, and to increase the car allowance
budget by $2,100.00, effective_April 1, 1982'. After discussion and

on motion by Commissioner Beard and seconded by Commissioner
Cooley, the Court voted unanimously to upgrade the position and
increase the car allowance as requested.
Commissioner Beard reported on the progress of the Oil Well
at the County Shop and stated that he was working on locating the
original street locations and in the original townsite of Boon-
ville, for oil leasing purposes and that the cost would be approx-
imately $1,000.00. It was the consensus of the Court that Mr.Beard
should proceed with the help of the County,Historical Commission.

THAT WHEREAS, on March 15, , 1982 the Court heard and approved
a budget amendment for the 82 Budget year for Brazos County, Texas.
WHEREAS, an emergency expenditure is necessary, due to grave public
necessity to meet unusual and unforseen conditions which could not be
reasonably included in the original budget adopted December 8, 1981 i
