COMMISSIONERS' COURT
REGULAR MEETING
OCTOBER 26, 1981
A regular meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos
County, Texas, was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in
the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at
10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 1981, with the following
members of the Court present:
R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, presiding:
Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Billy E. Beard, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4; t-!

The Court first heard from Theo Richardson. She wanted to
know what action must be taken to get Mr. Stasny to maintain Foster
Lane in Pct. 4. His response was that Foster Lane, as well as
Jones Road,would be maintained as all County roads in his precinct
are maintained.
The Court next received a request from the County Judge that
would authorize the advertisement for bids for a copier for the
Brazos Center. On motion made by Commissioner Beard, seconded by

Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously voted to authorize
the advertisement.
The Court next considered the bonds of public weighers for
Henry G. Gritter and Louise Barker in the amount of $2,500.00.each
with Aetna Casualty & Surety Co., as surety, and also the bond
of public weigher for John Williams in the amount of $2,500.00
with the National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburg, PA,
as surety. On motion made by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by
Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously voted to approve the
bonds.
The Court next considered the approval of the payment of
a statement from R. B. Butler, Inc. in the amount of $68,085.50
for modifications made on the Brazos County Courthouse Annex and
Tax Office. On motion made by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by
Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously voted to approve the
payment.
The Court next received the following bids for a four-wheel
tractor to be purchased by Commissioner Stasny in Precinct 4:
1. Brazos Machinery Company
a. John Deere 2240, 52 hp, $11,747.86 (30-day delivery).
b. Alternate bid: John Deere 2440, 60 hp, $13,057.09.
` 2. Twin City Farm Equipment Company
a. International Harvester 584, 52 hp, $11,989.00.
3. Hyco, Inc.
a. John Deere 302, 52 hp, $12,914.00
b. Alternate bid: John Deere 4018, 60 hp, $13,542.00.
4. Bollinger-Farley - (no bid)
5.. Normangee Tractor & Implement Company
a. International Harvester 584, 52 hp, $13,150.00.
b. Alternate bid: International Harvester 684, 60 hp,
$15,550.00.
6. Cen Tex Tractor Company
a. Ford 4600D, 52 hp, $12,495.00.
b. Ford 5600D, 60 hp, $14,725.00

The Court next considered the request from the Railroad
Commissioners to give them a request from the Commissioners'
Court rather than one commissioner to use produced oil and gas
field saltwater for road maintenance on certain County roads
located in Brazos County in all precincts. On motion made by
Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court
unanimously voted to request authorization from the Railroad
Commission.

b. Hesston 640, 60 hp, $12,966.36.

a. Deutz D5207, 52 hp, $12,715.00.
b. Deutz D6207, 60 hp, $13,944.00.
Commissioner Beard moved to authorize Commissioner Stasny to
analyze the bids and to authorize Commissioner Stasny to purchase
the one that best suits his needs. Motion was seconded by
Commissioner Wilcox and passed unanimously.
Commissioner Wilcox then moved to authorize Commissioner
Cooley to look over the same bids for a four-wheel tractor to
be purchased for Precinct 1 and to return to Court at a later
date with his recommendations of the tractor he would like to
purchase. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Beard and passed
unanimously.
The Court next considered the following plats:
1. Resubdivision plat of Carrabba Industrial Park,
Phase IV, in Pct. 2. On motion made by Commissioner
Beard, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court
unanimously voted to approve the resubdivision plat
subject to the receipt of a maintenance bond.
2. Preliminary and final plat of Carrabba Industrial
Park, Phase V, On motion made by Commissioner Wilcox,
seconded by Commissioner Beard, the Court unanimously
voted to approve the preliminary and final plat subject
to the receipt of a Road Construction bond. A variance
was granted to Lot one (1) acre because it had sewer
lines and no septic tank.

3. Final plat of Stewart's Meadow in Pct. 4. On motion
made by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner
Cooley, the Court unanimously voted to approve the
plat subject to the approval of the City of College
Station.

Change in Status of Employees as follows:

The Court proceeded to consider the following Claims
submitted by the County Auditor for payment:

Proposition 11 41 through 42
County Shop 203 through 207
Precinct No. 1 250 through 256
Precinct No. 2 241 through 247
Precinct No. 3 234 through 242
Precinct No. 4 186 through 192
On motion made by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner
Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to pay the Claims as submitted.
The Court proceeded to consider the approval of a Proclamation
to be given to the Honor Choir of A & N Consolidated High School.
On motion made by Commissioner Beard, seconded by Commissioner
Cooley, the Court unanimously voted to approve the Proclamation
as written.
There being no further business to come before the Court,
the meeting adjourned.
