J. Holmgreen, County Judge, presiding: Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Billy E. Beard, Commissioner of Precinct 3; W. A. July 6, July 13. July 15, July 20. July 23 and July 27. 1981. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Beard, the Court unanimously approved the minutes without change. The Court next heard a request from the Sheriff to increase jailer salaries as follows: 1. 3 Jailer 1 - $15.000 annually each 2. 3 Jailer II - $14.000 annually each 3. 8 Jailer III - $13,000 annually each After much discussion and on motion by the County Judge, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to grant this request for increases retroactive to August 3, 1981 and to amend the 1981 Budget accordingly. The Court next heard a request from Richard Fronterhouse, Constable of Precinct 4, to add one (1) additional deputy con- stable for Precinct 4 with no funds being payed by the county. On motion by Commissioner Beard, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously voted to add the additional deputy and to appoint Charles A. Brenneman to this position. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to pay the City of College Station in the amount of $118.18 for fire calls for the month of July, 1981. On motion by Commissioner Beard, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox. the Court unanimously voted to pay the statement of R. B. Butler, Inc. in the amount of $123,674.86 for work com- pleted on the Tax office and annex. SIONERS' COURT MEETING - AUGUST 10, 1981 CONTINUED V0 PAcE W - - - - A The Court next considered a resolution authorizing appli- cation for a grant to support augmentation to the District Attorney's staff. The grant will be for a one year•period effective February 1, 1982 through January 31, 1983 in the total amount of $28,120; 0 percent to.be funded by the Criminal Justice Department and 60 percent funded by Brazos County. On motion by the County Judge, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to adopt the resolution. A copy of such resolution is attached to and made a part of these minutes. The Court next considered a Rape Crisis Center Grant to assist rape victims in Brazos County. On motion by Commissioner Beard, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to adopt a resolution authorizing application for grant to support Brazos County Rape Crisis Center. A copy of such resolution is attached to and made a part of these minutes. The Court next considered a grant application for Coor- dinator of Volunteer Services for the Juvenile Probation office. The grant will be for a one year period effective June 1, 1982 through May 31, 1983 in the total amount of $18,173; 100 percent to funded by the Criminal Justice Department. On motion by the County Judge, seconded by Commissioner Beard, the Court unanimously voted to authorize the County Judge to enter into such grant on behalf of Brazos County. The Court next considered amendments to the 1981 Budget to fund the Data Processing department. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Beard, the Court unanimously voted to amend.the 1981 Budget. A copy of such amendment is attached to and.made a part of these minutes. The Court next considered the following bids received for the purchase of one (1) mobile two-way radio:. 1. General Electric - $1,602.00 2. -Skyline Communications - $2,088.75 3. South Texas Communications - $1,396.10. 1 i, i~ ? 7v r i~ COMMISSIONERS' COURT MEETING - AUGUST 10, 1981 CONTINUED On motion by Commissioner Beard, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court unanimously voted to refer the bids to the Sheriff and authorize him to purchase from the best bidder. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner -Beard, the Court unanimously approved authorization for Producer's Gas Company to install an eight inch natural gas pipeline within the right-of-way of Rock Prairie Road in Precinct 1. The Court next considered the PRELIMINARY and FINAL PLAT of RANGER INDUSTRIAL PARK in Precinct 3. On motion by Com- missioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Beard. the Court unanimously approved the plats as submitted subject to the submission of a construction bond for the roads. The Court next considered the FINAL PLAT of DEDICATION OF SHILO AVENUE in Precinct 4. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Beard, the Court unanimously approved the plat as submitted. The Court next considered the PRELIMINARY PLAT of VACAT- ING AND CORRECTION OF VILLAWEST SECTION I. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court unanimously approved the plat as submitted.
