J. Holmgreen, County Judge, presiding: Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Billy E. Beard, Cormissioner of Precinct 3; W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. The following citizens and officials were in attendance: Peter Collins KAMU-TV Wayne Wheat KAMU-TV James Tiller Lyons Petroleum, Inc. Bell with the 2•.eritorious Service Medal for outstanding service to the United States while assigned to the Brazos County Civil Defense office from June 25, 1973 to June 29, 1981. The Court thanked Colonel Bell for all his time and efforts and recognized Jake Canglose, Director of Civil Defense, and thanked him for all his hard. work and support. All the equipment will-be housed in the Bryan Public Library and will be available for public use. On motion by Commissioner Beard, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court unanimously t voted to authorize Law Library funds to be utilized for this. , purpose. The July term of Court being the t{.me set by law for the appointment of election judges for the current voting year, the Court proceei-J to the appointment of election judges. Yeager, Judge, Precinct 31 Vi Burke, Judge Precinct 31 Martha Camp, Alternate On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Beard, the Court unanimously voted to set the rate of pay =or election judges and clerks at $4.00 per hour and the amount for delivery of returns at $25.00. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox.-seconded by Commissioner Beard, the Court unanimously voted to appoint William Dale Vick as a Reserve Deputy Constable for Precinct 4. The Court next considered the following bids received for courtroom furniture: 1. News Office Supply Co. - $11,102.00 On recommendation by Jack Cumpton and motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Beard, the Court unanimously voted to accept the bid of News Office Supply Company. >i The Court next considered sealed proposals for oilrand gas leases on county property. It was the consensus of the Court that all proposals be mailed back unopened with an explanation and readvertise for proposals on all county properties. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Beard, the Court unanimously voted to appoint Hank Paine to act , as County Attorney during Jeff Brown's absence. On motion by Commissioner Beard, seconded by Commissioner r Wilcox, the Court unanimously approved payment to R. 0. Brackett in the atmount of $57.02 fcr a broken window to his automobile. The Court proceeded to hold a Public Hearing for the purpose of closing; South Oaku Drive and Turkey Creek Road to throsigh truck traffic.
