The Court first considered the minutes of the meetings
held February 9, February 23, February 27, March 4, March 9
and March 23, 1981. On motion by Commissioner Beard, seconded
by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously approved the
minutes without change.
The Court next heard a request from the County Auditor's
office to advertise for bids for the purchase of a computer
for the county. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded
by Commissioner Beard, the Court unanimously voted to adver-
tise for bids for the purchase of a computer.

The Court next considered a request by Richard Fronterhouse
to appoint John D. Copeland as Deputy Constable for Precinct
4. The Court having been furnished with proper Peace Officer
certification for Mr. Copeland, Commissioner Beard moved to
appoint Mr. Copeland as Deputy Constable for Precinct 4. Motion
was seconded by Commissioner Stasny and carried unanimously.
The Court next considered the following bid received for
gasoline and diesel fuel for a period of one year beginning
April 14, 1981:
Gulf Oil Company - 75,000 gal. Regular - $1.1215/gal.
15,000 gal. Unleaded - $1.1715/gal.
30,000 gal. Diesel - $1.081gal.
On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner
Beard, the Court unanimously voted to award the bid to Gulf
Oil Company, being the only bid received.
The Court next considered the following bids for culvert
pipes;
1. Farm & Ranch
2. A. T. Ball Lumber Company
.Commissioner Wilcox moved that the award of these bids be
deferred and that Commissioners be allowed to get prices
and take the lowest price for purchase until the bids are
accepted. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Beard and
carried unanimously.

The Court next considered the following bids for the
purchase of 1200 steel channel posts:
1. Vulcan Signs & Stampings Inc. - 10' galvan. - $8.25;
10' green - $6.33; 12' galvan. - $9.90; 12' green -
$7.60.

2. Hall Signs Inc. - 10' galvan. - $8.30; 10' green -
$6.36; 12' galvan. - $9.96' 12' green - $7.64.
3. Southwestern Materials - 10' galvan. - $9.95;
10' green - $11.95; 12' galvan. - $7.75; 12' green -
$9.30.
After discussion Commissioner Cooley moved to purchase the
necessary posts from the State Department of Highways and
Public Transportation on an emergency basis if allowable,
if not~to take the low bid of Vulcan Signs & Stampings Inc.
and that the posts be paid out of the General Road and Bridge
Fund. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Stasny and carried
unanimously.
The Court next considered the following bids for the
sale of surplus vehicles in the Sheriff's office:
1. Frank Henry - 1975 Ford
2. Judith Werlinger - 1974
3. West End Salvage - 1975

On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner

Beard, the Court unanimously voted to accept the high bids of
Frank Henry for the 1975 Ford and 1974 Oldsmobile and West
End Salvage for the tilting trailer.
The Court next considered payment of the statement of
R. B. Butler, Inc, for work completed on the modifications
to the Brazos County Courthouse Annex and Tax office in the
amount of $43,276.00. On motion by Commissioner Cooley,
seconded by Commissioner Beard, the Court unanimously voted
to pay the statement of R. B. Butler, Inc. in the amount of
$43,276.00.
The Court next considered payment of the statement of
Jack Cumpton, Architect for architectural services on the

modifications to the Brazos County Courthouse Annex and Tax
office in the amount of $692.42. On motion by Commissioners
Beard, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously
voted to pay the statement of Jack Cumpton in the amount of
$692.42.
On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner
Beard, the Court unanimously approved authorization for Wesco
Pipeline Company to install an eight inch crude oil pipeline
in the following rights-of-way:
1. Wright Road in Precinct 1
2. No named road in Precinct 1
A copy of such application is attached to and made a part of
these minutes.
The Court next considered a request for concurrence of
correction of a Plat of Block 6, Villa West, Phase II in Precinct
4. On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner
Beard, the Court unanimously approved the plat subject to the
correction of the plat and the approval by the City of Bryan,
The Court next considered the Final Plat of CARRABBA
INDUSTRIAL PARK, PHASE III and PHASE IV. On motion by Com-
missioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court
unanimously approved the Plats as submitted.
The Court next considered the Preliminary Plat of
B. B. SCASTA TRACT in Precinct 3. After discussion Commissioner
Beard moved that the Plat be rejected due to no tract of land
being one (1) acre as required. Motion was seconded by Com-
missioner Cooley and carried unanimously.
• On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner
Stasny, the Court unanimously approved Requests For Change In
Status of Employees as follows:

On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner
Beard, the Court unanimously voted to designate all County '
owned buildings away from the Courthouse Proper as Courthouse
Annexes.
