HomeMy WebLinkAbout1981-04-06-1000AM-Special0 r, t i III 1 r i i COMMISSIONERS' COURT SPECIAL MEETING APRIL 6, 1981 A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas beginning at 10:00 A.M. on Monday. April 6, 1981, with the following mem- bers of the Court present: W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4, presiding: Bill J. Cooley, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Billy E. Beard, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. The following citizens and officials were in attendance: Arnold Dittfurth Auditor's office Tammy L. Pardi KAGC News The Court first considered authorization to purchase state surplus property from the State Purchasing and General Services Commission. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Beard, the Court unanimously voted to authorize the Commissioner of Precinct 2 to purchase one (1) 1968 Dodge pick-up for $425.00, Commissioner of Precinct 3 to purchase two (2) 1969 Dodge pick-ups for $475.00 each and the County to purchase property from the State Purchasing and General Services Commission for the remainder of the year. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Beard, the Court voted unanimously to authorize purchases of surplus property from the Texas Surplus Property Agency for the remainder of the year. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox, seconded by Commissioner Beard, the Court unanimously voted to advertise for bids for the purchase of one (1) used truck tractor for Precinct 2. t' ~f I } i n J l r J t i i . COMKISSIONERS' COURT MEETING - APRIL 6, 1981 CONTINUED 4 r~ 1 On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously approved the purchase of road signs for Precinct 3 from the Texas Department of Corregtions. i i f i i The Court having been advised by the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation that the Turkey Creek Bridge on Jones Road in Precinct 4 had been approved for funding under the 1979-82 Federal Aid Off-System Bridge Replacement and Rehabilitation Program discussed the county's responsibilities. and procedure. On motion by Commissioner Beard, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court unanimously voted to authorize the County Judge to enter into an agreement with the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation for the pro- ject and to obligate the county for $36,000.00 representing 20 percent of the total construction cost. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Beard, the Court unanimously voted to authorize the county to utilize Griffith's Typewriter Service when necessary. There being no further business to come before the Court, the meeting sas adjourned.
