Spencer J Buchanon & Assoc County Auditor The Eagle KAGC Constable Precinct 4 Motorola Communications Citizen WTAW Radio Citizen KAGC KAMU KAMU Constable Precinct 7 Deputy Constable Precinct 7 College Station Bank TAMU District Attorney Brazos County Sheriff's office Citizen Citizen KBTX KBTX The Court first considered an Application for Massage Parlor Operator's Permit submitted by Robert Dale Brock for Lucky Lady No one was present in support of the application, whereupon Travis Bryan, District Attorney, requested the application be denied on grounds that it contained the improper mailing address. On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Beard, the Court unanimously voted to deny the application on the grounds that it contained the improper mailing address ` ~ NVy "COMMISSIONERS' COURT MEETING - FEBRUARY 23, 1981 CONTINUED 'V®LPAGE-ZZ2, The Court next considered a request by Richard Fronterhouse to appoint William H Cantrell as Deputy Constable for Precinct 4. The Court having been furnished with proper Peace Officer I , Certification for Mr Cantrell, Commissioner Beard moved to appoint Ile 1Mr. Cantrell as Deputy Constable for Precinct 4 The motion ;I was seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, and approved unanimously. The Court proceeded to consider a request from Norman K Waggoner for a refund of $121 47 paid to the County Tax Assessor- Collector for ad valorem taxes of Lot 13 Block 4 of Skrivanek Such amount representing an over 65 exemption due Mr Waggoner. On motion by Commissioner Wilcox seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously approved the refund of taxes in the amount of $121 47 On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to pay fire calls to the City of Bryan in the amount of $459.76 The Court next considered bids received for the sale of surplus property for Precinct 1 The following bids were received A) '70 Dodge Pick-up 1 1) Larry Artressa - $100 00 l B) Dump Truck 1) Larry Artressa - $50 00 2) Calvin Schien - $50 00 C) Boom Truck 1) Calvin Schien - $525 00 2) Device Deisel, Inc. - $506.00 Bill Elliot submitted a bid of $210.00 for all of the equipment On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to accept the bid of Larry Artressa for the '70 Dodge Pick-up, the bid of Calvin Schien for the Boom Truck, and to allow the Auditor to choose the purchaser of the Dump Truck since equal bids were received 1 / r . ~H t✓;~' 1 M ~ ,.ws(k4_t r1n^r /r I fly v `~'+~r►- M --='-1 J'OMMISSIONERS' COURT MEETING - FEBRUARY 23, 1981 CONTINUED ~J The Court proceeded to consider bids for radio equipment for the Constables. The following bids were received 1) Skyline Communications - $12,417 60 $1735 20 - 2 hand held units plus accessories $8947 20 - 4 mobil units and antennas 2) General Electric - $8648 00 $5184 00 - 4 mobil units and antennas $1622 00 - 2 portable units $ 110 00 - 2 rapid chargers 3) Motorola - $10,186.00 $6800 00 - 4 mobil units and installation $3386 00 - 2 portable units The County Judge requested the Constables and Mr. 0. L. Pate to review the bids and return to the Court with their recommen- dations on recommendation of those who examined the bids, Commissioner Beard moved to purchase the radios from General Electric The motion was seconded by Commissioner Cooley and carried unanimously The next matter to come before the Court was the selection of a County Depository for the Bienium 1981-1982 The County Judge recommended that the bid be awarded to First National Bank On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously voted to award the bid to First National I Bank for the 1981-1982 bienium The Court next considered a request from James R Reese for Soil Conservation work to be done on his property approximately 2 miles from the intersection of FM 2223 and FM 974 On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Wilcox, the Court unanimously approved the necessary work and set a completion date of December 31, 1981 The next matter to come before the Court was the consideration of the Final Plat of LITCHFORD in Precinct 4 On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Cooley, the Court unanimously voted to approve the Plat subject to the following 1) the number of acres of each lot being added to the Plat, and Vold. .PAGE73. I COMMISSIONERS; COURT MEETING FEBRUARY 23, 1981 CONTINUED i voL. 0 PAGE 2) filing of a construction bond, or the completion of the construction of the roads The Court also considered the Final Plat of FOXFIRE, PHASE III in Precinct 1 Commissioner Cooley moved to approve the Plat and Commissionser Stasny seconded the motion With Commissioners Stasny, Beard, and Cooley voting "AYE" and Commissioner Wilcox voting "NO" the County Judge announced the motion carried, whereupon the Plat was approved subject to the following 1) filing of a maintenance bond, and 2) Falcon Circle and Frost be cut to 900 or set back. The Court proceeded to consider the following Claims submitted by the County Auditor for payment General Fund Claims 542 through 626 Precinct 1 Claims 49 through 64 Precinct 2 Claims 41 through 45 Precinct 3 Claims 33 through 35 County Shop Claims 36 through 46 On motion by Commissioner Stasny, seconded by Commissioner Beard, the Court unanimously voted to pay the Claims as submitted. The next matter to come before the Court was the consideration of the appointments of additional personnel to the Auditor's office. Commissioner Beard moved that no action be taken until a discussion could be held with the District Judges. Commissioner Beard stated that justification of the additional money required by this action would be needed. V; 4 - n T. - , ~ ~ 1r f y. r~ y 4 „ r t COMMISSIONERS' COURT MEETING - FEBRUARY 23, 1981 CONTINUED L 'r Gail Miller ! rh Rita Jane Villarreal ~y Paul Cantrell Albert Twitty, III ] Beverly Contreras Justin Earp Justice of the Peace Juvenile Probation Precinct 3 Precinct 3 Tax office Tax office The Court having previously discussed reallocation of the Fire Protection Budget setting aside funds for the payment of repairs to the Volunteer Fire Department fire trucks proceeded to discuss the matter It was suggested by the County Judge that a set amount be designated for each truck to be used for that truck at the discretion of the Volunteer Fire Department It was the consensus of the Court that $1200 be designated to each fire truck and that the budget be amended at a later date when it is determined how many fire trucks there are On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Stasny, the Court unanimously approved authorization to amend the 1981 Budget for the purchase of radios for the Constables, a copy of which is attached to and made a part of these minutes. Next to be considered was the payment of fire insurance for the County Shop in the amount of $621 00 On motion by Commissioner Cooley, seconded by Commissioner Beard, the Court unanimously approved payment of the insurance.
